Chapter V
The refreshing fall breeze leaps in briskly from outside the window, teasing the curtains beside the window to flap uncontrollably.
The aroma of roses, nestled in the embrace of the wind, traveled to every room in the city. Like they can’t let go of the short fall, they are scrambling to bloom their best before the white winter comes.
The soft golden light of the sun adds a warm layer of color to the leaves.
Kay and Joe frolicked on a bench in the courtyard rose garden on a slightly cool fall afternoon.
“AH… AH…” Kay moaned thinly, wrapping her arms around Joe’s firm body.
Jo’s lips roamed over Kay’s chest, an unstoppable gasp pouring from Kay’s lips, her white pattered skin leaking a thin red color from the heat.
Finally freed from the bondage of the Duke, Kay and Joe are happy together every day. No longer needing to fear anyone, the two are free to talk about love, kissing and hugging each other.
“Mmm… mmm… mmm…”
As soon as they overlapped lips, Kay’s red tongue couldn’t wait to wrap itself around Joe, and the two of them made warm friction sounds as they sucked on each other.
Joe’s hand explored Kai’s open pajamas, stroking his delicate thighs as he continued deeper.
It was truly a masterpiece of the Creator, an exclamation Joe deeply had with each hug of Kai.
“Want to?”
Joe whispered at Kay’s side. Kay floated a winking smile put her hand between Joe’s legs and unzipped her zipper to take hold of Joe.
“Of course I want to. Enter my body with your…”
Kay said in a thin, mosquito voice and began rubbing Joe’s manhood symbol.
“Ah… ah… ah… um.”
Kay’s gasps echoed throughout the rose garden where the fallen flowers were flying. Every time Joe rocked back and forth, Kay became intoxicated with a mixture of pain and pleasure. It was only when her body and mind were filled with bliss that she let out a joyous cry of pleasure and climaxed.
“Ah… phew…”
Joe embraced Kai hard and shot his hot liquid in his deepest part. At the same time, Kai closed his eyes tightly and followed after Joe to free himself. The two men were breathing heavily and kissing each other.
A sense of fulfilling exhaustion dominated Kay’s entire body. Joe took Kay’s slack body into his arms and together they sank into sweet dreams.
“Mr. Joe, how is the young master doing?” Jakob entered Kai’s chambers with the house servant.
“He just fell asleep.” Joe answered as he stood up.
“Yeah? Better not wake him up then.”
Jakob ordered the servants to stand down.
I thought I could go back to being happy every day, but it didn’t work out so well, and Kai’s body started to get sick.
Counting on his fingers, it had been nearly two months since the last time he had sucked Joe’s blood, and it was for this reason that Kai’s body was gradually weakening.
Having lost the support of the Duke and having no human blood to suck, Kai, with his strong will, never uttered a word of complaint or dissatisfaction.
The servants prepared the blood of two rabbits for Kai every day. However, as the days went by, the raw blood was no longer enough to satisfy Kai’s physical needs. Although Joe stayed with him every day to take care of him, Kai was too weak to get up and spent most of the day sleeping.
Any more human blood is still needed.
Drinking only half a cup of rabbit blood, Kai fell asleep as if abducted by the Sandman. Until late at night, Joe still stood by his side and did not leave. Wrapped in a silk blanket, Kay’s pretty face had lost its original luster and was as pale and lifeless as a patient suffering from a serious illness.
Joe sat on the edge of his bed and stroked his emaciated cheek. Kai’s long lashes dropped light across the face of his eyes, and his almost gray lips were dry and cracked.
“Kay.”
“Eh?”
Groaning softly, Kai rolled over and opened his eyes.
“Have you always been there for me? “
At the sight of Joe, Kay floated a feeble smile. Jo nodded softly and kissed Kay on the cheek.
“I just had a dream.”
“Dreams?”
“Grace. I dreamed that Alfred was coming to break us up again. That’s weird, he’s dead, there shouldn’t be anyone else to come and break us up.” Kai’s expression stiffened a bit as he smiled bitterly.
“In exchange for my body, Alfred will find some unidentified hobo to use as my sustenance.”
“Kay…”
Joe was speechless. I think that’s what the Duke meant by “favor”. He reached out and stroked Kay’s thin cheek, and Kay overlapped his hand.
“But I have no regrets. As long as I think of being with you forever, I can endure any suffering.”
Looking at Kai’s forced smile, Jo’s heart ached indescribably. Looking at his pale cheeks, which were favored by death, he could do nothing….
Joe had never hated himself so much as he did at this moment.
Kay closed her eyes and gripped the silk comforter tightly. Suddenly it felt as if Joe was moving and the springs in the bed made an irregular rolling sound.
Kai rolled over and opened his eyes, Joe’s face beside his own.
“Joe, don’t go away, stay with me all the time, okay? I’m so scared, I’m really scared of being alone.”
Kai wrapped his arms around the back of his neck as Joe leaned in to embrace him and kissed him on the lips.
“What are you afraid of? I’m not going anywhere, I’ll always be by your side.”
Joe whispered in Kai’s ear and Kai nodded vigorously still wrapping his arms around Joe and not letting go.
However, the unforgiving fate made Kay weaker and weaker every day.
Already unable to eat at breakfast, Kai can only survive by drinking rabbit blood. But even after drinking the blood of five rabbits a day, Kai’s condition has not improved.
“Jakob, Jakob, where are you? “
Waking up Kai rung the call bell, but there was no sign of Yakob, probably out and about.
“Is anyone there? “No one heard Kay’s call.
Kai sighed. Propping himself up on his elbows was already panting. He slowly got out of bed, picked up a cup of raw blood that was placed on the table next to the bed, and gulped it down in one gulp. As the raw blood with its unique odor moistened his throat, the instantaneous feeling of fullness and pleasure relaxed Kai’s entire body.
As he prepares to take another drink while dumping the glass bottle.
“Ah…”
The sudden dizziness caused Kai to shake his body and sit weakly on his knees, the glass in his hand slipping to the ground and shattering.
Kai gasped uncontrollably as he supported his weakened body with his hands, reaching for the shards when he suddenly felt a wave of sadness wash over him.
It was obvious that she could already be with Joe, so why did her body just not listen to her. Kay’s tears fell down her cheeks one by one, her slender body trembling uncontrollably.
He thought he could finally escape from the Duke’s bondage, but now he was trapped in another curse that was his birthright. Kay had never hated being a bloodsucker as much as she did at this moment.
The sound of a door opening came from behind him.
Kai looked back and it was Joe standing there. His eyes were filled with helplessness and pity. Kai looked down to avoid his gaze as Joe slowly approached his side and reached out his hand.
“Thanks.”
Kai dutifully allowed Joe to help him up. However the loss of strength in his legs couldn’t hold up his limp body and his whole body fell into Joe’s arms.
“┅┅”
Kai slowly raised his head and met Joe’s deep, sad gaze. Those dark blue pupils held a firm will.
“Jo…” called Kay softly.
“Why don’t you want my blood?” Joe questioned in a low voice.
“You’re not food.” Kai replied in a thin voice, lowering his eyes.
“Would you wish that much now? It’s your life that’s at stake.”
Jo grabbed the thin shoulders of Kay, who was desperately shaking her head, and shook them, her long black hair leaping in silky waves as Kay shook her head.
“Kay! Listen to me!” Joe exclaimed.
Yet Kai still insists on not sucking Joe’s blood.
“Kay! “
An anxious Joe finally couldn’t resist slapping Kay. Kai looked up at Joe in surprise as he rubbed his cheek.
“Okay, if you won’t suck it, let me make you suck it.”
Joe took out his prepared short sword and held it against his neck, slashing without hesitation. While feeling the searing pain the blood had already burst open, and drops of it fell along the nape of his neck.
“Joe!!!” Kai’s eyes widened in shock.
“Come on, Kai. This is the human blood you want most right now.”
Joe held his blood-stained left hand out in front of Kai’s face. Smelling the blood, Kai swallowed hungrily. However, in the face of Joe’s approach, Kai took a step back.
“No…”
Kai continued to shake his head and took several more steps back as if frightened by Joe’s glare.
“Kay, drink it. It’ll make you feel better.”
Joe fought back the pain that came with the pressure of his pulse, and even more so, he brought his bloodied hand up to Kay’s eyes. Kay shook her head as if she were crazy, tears flooding her eyes uncontrollably.
“Kay! “
Joe’s hand grabbed Kay, who yelled at him not to struggle desperately.
“Don’t! Jo! I can’t drink your blood anymore! Jakob, Jakob, come quickly! Jo…”
Kay tried desperately to break free of Joe’s bonds, but the force was too great. The two tangled to the edge of the bed, and Joe brought his blood-drained hand to Kay’s mouth.
“Stop it! I don’t want you to die for me! “
Kai turned his head away insisting on no compromise.
“You don’t have to care about me. If I can let you live, I won’t complain even if I have to bleed my whole body. Asking me to watch you weaken day by day is better than asking me to die.”
“Jo…” said Kay, trembling uncontrollably in Jo’s arms.
“Come on, Kay. Drink as much as you want.”
Joe got up and sat on the edge of the bed, holding Kai in his lap and tilting his head to make it easier for him to suck.
“Jo… Jo…” Kay kept choking.
“Come on…”
Joe looked at Kai tenderly. Kai licked the wound gently only at his urging, the scent of human blood spreading in his mouth.
Forgive me for hurting you, Joe!” Shouting wildly in his mind, Kai brought his mouth to Joe’s wound.
“Uh… coo. Mmm… mmm…”
Kai began to greedily suck on Joe’s raw blood. Joe slowly lay down on the bed with him tightly embraced. It felt as if the man in his arms had begun to regain his body heat, and his withered and parched skin was gradually returning to its luster.
Great…” Joe said to himself in his mind.
Kay cried and slurped the blood, enjoying it like a kitten licking milk. It must have been a hard time, huh? Kay slipped into a trance as he sucked on the blood. He should be fine now.
A smile tugged at Joe’s face as his consciousness faded into a haze. There seemed to be a bit of blood loss, but Joe didn’t care. What was a little blood sacrifice as long as it restored Kai to health?
At that moment, Joe’s body winced.
“Jo…” Kai’s voice seemed to come from a distance.
“It’s okay, I’m not going to die.”
Joe thought this in his mind but could not speak. The right hand that had been gently caressing Kai also slid downward, and Joe finally fell into the dark abyss.
“Joe, Joe? Pull yourself together, Joe!”
“Umm…”
I don’t know how much time passed before Joe heard Kay calling his name over and over again from his side. Joe desperately tried to snap out of his chaotic consciousness, but his eyelids were just too heavy. After a while, Joe felt something flow into his mouth, as if it were water, just enough to moisten his parched throat, and Joe drank it down hungrily.
“Ah…”
Joe finally opened his eyes and saw Kai’s check in the flickering candlelight.
“Great, I thought you were dead.”
Kay’s big beautiful eyes were filled with tears but she had a happy smile on her face. Joe let out a long breath taking Kay into his arms.
“You’re looking good.” Joe stroked Kai’s head.
“But it’s disgraceful not to wake up after that little bit of blood.” Joe floated a bitter smile to himself.
“You gave me all of this.”
Kay buried her head in Joe’s chest with beads of tears in her eyes, and Joe smiled bitterly and hugged Kay close.
It was a relief for Joe to see Kay return to her usual share of beauty.
“Joe, please don’t be so impulsive in the future, okay? I’m already fine! But in case something happens to you, I…”
“I cannot live without you. No one but you can give me hope of living.”
“Kay…”
Joe held Kai’s hand. His tear-drenched pupils were so crystal clear.
“Promise me that you will never leave me and always stay by my side. And don’t hate me, if you don’t want me, I won’t be able to love anyone or trust anyone ever again.”
Kay’s greatest fear is that her demonic nature will be loathed by Joe. Especially since Joe has witnessed his ugly true colors so many times that even with all the love in the world, he might turn to ashes.
So, knowing how much Joe loved him, Kay wanted to hear the vows of love from his lips herself.
Wiping Kai’s tears away with the back of his fingers, Joe smiled.
“How silly! How could I possibly hate you? ” He gently stroked Kai’s long hair to comfort him.
However, both men also had a vague sense that there was one of the biggest dilemmas lying ahead of them.
Although Kai had just sucked Joe’s blood and was able to return to life, what about later?
A new uneasiness surrounded both of them, and the sensitive Kay snuggled into Joe’s arms unable to hold back a light shiver at the thought of the future.
“Do you want to sleep together tonight? I’m cold, be my warm blanket.”
Joe dismissed the uneasiness that was gradually welling up and smiled at Kay, who floated a shy smile in return rubbing her own cheek against Joe’s.
“I’m afraid the clothes will be wrinkled from sleeping. Wait a moment! I’ll go change my clothes.”
Kay tried to get up from Joe’s arm. But Joe’s “what the hell” pulled Kay forcefully back into his arms.
“Really, every time.” Kai looked at Joe like he was an urchin.
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
Vows of love and kisses were exchanged. That night, the two were able to rest in each other’s arms as if they had forgotten everything.
Kai gazed lovingly at the face of Jo, who had fallen into a dreamy slumber before himself.
There was a pair of eyes watching them from the slightly ajar doorway; it was Jakob. His eyes were filled with mixed emotions, and blowing out the candle in his hand, he closed the door gently.
Maybe it’s already too late.
Kay has eyes only for Joe. Even when Joe first entered this castle, Kay ignored his bitter words. While the death of the Duke was a break free for Kai, Joe’s presence has pulled Kai further and further away from him.
Yakob, who was expecting Kai to be happy, had very mixed feelings.
The next day, Kay woke up before Joe.
“Joe.”
Kay called out, and Joe didn’t respond. His chest rose and fell regularly, his dark brown hair softly covering his forehead. Kay brushed a hand over his warm shoulder.
“Joe, get up.”
“Umm…” moaned Jo as she buried her head in the white feather pillow.
“It’s too early, isn’t it? “
“I want to bathe, come with me.”
Joe got up with a big yawn, and as soon as Kai had rung the call bell the servant came in.
“Tell Jakob to get ready, I want to bathe.”
“The butler went out at first light.”
“Out? Where to?”
Jakob rarely hid his outings from Kay, who was surprised and questioned the servant.
“He did not give an account.” The servant bowed his head poorly to answer.
“That’s fine, then please. And prepare the rosewater.” Kai drank the blood free with a puzzled look on his face.
“Strange, where the hell has he been? He just restocked his food supplies a couple days ago, so what was he doing out there besides this?
”
On this day, Jakob did not return until the twilight hour.
Chapter VI
Before the onset of winter, the two of them, who haven’t been outside for a while, joined hands and traveled together in the forest. Although there are forests and rivers inside the castle, it’s still very different from the liberating feeling of the outside world.
Joe helped Kai onto the back of the horse and sat himself behind him wrapping his arms around him. The two rode slowly roaming through the green forest.
The sight of red and yellow foliage and falling leaves. That sea of lush emerald green trees in early summer has somehow turned into sallow yellow leaves, presenting an autumnal scene.
“Joe, stop.”
As the horse paced to the base of a large tree with thick branches reaching low, Kay asked to be stopped. When Joe stopped the horse, Kay made a flying, light leap onto the branch.
“Can we play chase again like that time?”
“A guy that old still playing that?”
“You don’t want to?” A shadow brushed across Kay’s beautiful features.
“No.”
“If you don’t want to play, forget it, you don’t have to force it.” Kai was not happy.
“Alright, I’ll just play.”
Joe laughed as he tied his horse to the trunk of a birch tree. Kay ate it up and jumped down from the branch and began to tantalize Joe.
“Come after me again in tens.”
Soft sunlight streamed in through the cracks in the forest, casting the shadows of the trees in a haze of beauty. As the river narrowed due to the decrease in water volume, Kai leapt to the other bank with the ease of a swallow. The moment he soared, his beautiful long hair flew with him. For a moment Kai seemed to be one with the light. Joe was mesmerized by the beauty of his form and stood still. Kai turned his head and smiled at him.
“Come on. Or can’t you even jump this creek? “
Only when she saw Joe leaping across the creek in pursuit did Kay run away again with a giggle. The two chased and played like innocent children. Joe, who had finally caught up with Kai, hugged him from behind and they both fell onto the dry grass. The fallen leaves were shaken up and flew all over the sky.
“It’s been a long time since I ran like this.”
Breathing heavily, Kai looked up at Joe, who was pressed against him, and Joe leaned over Kai’s chest to listen to his heartbeat and the gasp that escaped his red lips.
Joe slipped his hand into Kai’s shirt and caressed his soft skin, and Kai giggled as if he were ticklish.
“Uh… um…”
Joe’s lips covered Kay’s cherry lips and passed over his train of teeth. Kai closed his eyes and tangled his tongue with Joe’s. The two of them lingered on the dry grass for a while.
“Kay, want to go a little farther away?” Joe suddenly lifted himself up to say so.
“Farther?” Kai was filled with a puzzled look.
“Um, there’s a spot with a really good view a little further on.”
With that, Joe took Kai’s wrist and stood up, and the two of them went back to the tie-down and mounted their horses and slowly headed west toward the forest. It was a completely unknown place to Kay. After ascending the slope and walking for a while, what had been a densely wooded slope suddenly opened up.
They ascended to the top of the bluff, and the vast landscape presented itself to both of them.
“How was it? Great view, huh?”
“Grace. I’ve never stepped one step outside of the Misty Forest, I didn’t know that the west side of the forest was actually this vast.” Kai’s eyes were filled with longing.
“That’s good.”
The two gazed out into the distance without words for the moment.
Kay followed Joe’s gaze. There was a hillock in the direction Joe was looking, with several castles looming over it. There were large towns and small towns, forests and rivers, and Joe’s eyes went straight to one of the largest castles.
“Kai, that’s the city of Dorno.” Pointing to the distant old castle, he explained to Kai, his dark blue pupils flooded with homesick conviction. A faint layer of grayness enveloped Kai’s face, his mood suddenly becoming a bit sad.
“What’s wrong? ” Joe looked at Kay’s face with a slight hint of silent chatter.
“Nothing.” Kai replied in a low voice. “┅You must really want to get back to your castle, right? “
Joe looked at Kai in surprise and Kai sighed as he snuggled into his arms.
“I never thought about it.”
Kai has become unusually timid lately, fearing that at some point Joe will tire of him. Joe, who had wanted to relieve him so he took him out to observe the scenery, instead made him even more uneasy. Joe regrets his carelessness.
“Should we go back? Yakob will worry if you return too late.”
Joe wrapped his arms around the top of Kai’s neck and Kai nodded wordlessly.
“Come on, hold on to me. I’m going to use the run.”
Joe sat Kay on his back this time and kicked the horse’s belly so hard that it immediately took off at a gallop. Kay clung to Joe’s sturdy waist.
Autumn sunsets quickly, and it wasn’t long before the surrounding area was covered in a thick twilight that gave way to an orange-yellow color. It was dark when they returned to the castle, and Jakob, who had prepared dinner, waited anxiously for his master’s return.
“Where did you guys hang out today?”
Halfway through the lavish dinner, Jakob asked offhandedly. Kay stopped her hand from bringing in the roast duck and replied listlessly.
“Just riding Heffer around the forest.” Kai put his knife and fork down next to his utensils and stood up.
“I’m not eating.”
“What happened to him, young master?” Jakob inquired of Joe as he watched Kai leave.
“Ahhh, he’s been that way since I brought him to where I could see Dorno City.”
“Mr. Qiao, how can you take the young master to a strange place without permission? What if the villagers find out? Please don’t do this again in the future.”
Jakob chastised Joe harshly. Joe was momentarily upset, but thought that Yacob was right to be concerned and had to admit his mistake.
“I know. I won’t take Kai out anymore, is that okay?”
“Please forgive my rudeness, this is all for the good of the young master.”
“I know. Don’t take it to heart.” Joe replied a little glumly.
“I don’t have to either.”
Placing the napkin on the table, Joe stood up and headed for Kay’s room. Kay lay on the bed watching.
“About the morning, are you angry?”
“It’s not your fault.” Kai closed his arms and smiled feebly.
“Did you forget that I told you that I love you? I swore I’d never leave without you.” Joe embraced Kai’s shoulders.
“I believe you! The reason I have a bad appetite at night is because I haven’t been out in a while, so I’m a little tired, don’t worry.
”
“If you’re really uncomfortable, I’ll go get Jakob for you.”
Letting Kay lie back down on the bed, Joe went out to call for someone. Within moments, Jakob came in with a drink laced with rabbit blood.
“Forget everything and get some rest.”
Kai emptied his glass in one tilt, and this night he went to sleep alone.
In the middle of the night, a strange thing happened: only three rabbits were left in the hut where the rabbits were kept in the castle, and the rest were killed. The first discoverer is the servant who was preparing to feed the rabbits, and when they hear her screams, Jakob and the other footmen rush to the scene, only to find that the barbed wire fence has been broken and the rabbits have been killed.
Though Jacobs judged afterward that it was the work of a hungry beast of the forest after nightfall, Joe still felt that something was wrong.
If a wild beast had entered the city, Olajo would not have reacted at all. For Joe, too, had gone to sleep near dawn and had not heard the dogs barking at all.
However, it was unlikely that anyone in the city would kill Kai’s rations, but Joe didn’t pursue the matter any further. Finding a way to replenish Kai’s food rations was more of a priority than finding the culprit.
Since Jakob didn’t want to worry Kay, he offered to keep it from him for now, and Joe threw his hands up in favor.
“Mr. Joe, could you please take a trip into the forest for the young master? “
In the morning, Jakob came to Joe’s room.
“Last night before the young master rested he had said he wanted a venison steak, but this morning the city’s hunters were out for the rabbit hunt and you are the only one left who can use a shotgun. So I would like to trouble you for this favor.”
Joe readily acceded to Yacob’s earnest request, and with Olaju prepared to set out for the forest. Before he left, Yakob explained that he would stop by the north side of the forest and bring back the prey from the rabbit trap he had set there a few days before.
Kay hadn’t woken up before Joe left the house, and Joe had wanted to wait until Kay woke up to let him know before he left, but at Jakob’s urging, he had to trouble him to turn the message around before he set off.
“I know, please be careful on your journey.” Jakob curtsied deeply.
Jakob returned to Kai’s chambers and stood on the balcony to see Joe off before turning to look at his beautiful sleeping master. The wind coming in through the window was blowing the bedspread around, and Jakob carefully lowered the innermost tent to hide his master’s gorgeous sleeping form.
Entering the forest, Joe follows Jakob’s instructions to look for rabbit traps. But strangely enough, not only did he not find any of them, he didn’t even find any sign of the beasts.
Was Jacobs mistaken? Joe thought suspiciously as he rode on.
The North Woods is where Joe and Kai first met. He had chased Kay around for more times than he could count that summer, when he knew nothing about him, just to see him.
It had been half a year since then, hadn’t it? Thinking back to his first meeting with Kai on the rocking horse, Joe couldn’t help but smile bitterly. At that moment, an object, a deer, suddenly swept through the bushes not far ahead. The rather large stag stopped and looked at Joe before disappearing back into the bushes.
“Olaju!”
At Joe’s call, Wolfhound couldn’t wait to rush out. Joe rode into the woods behind the vicious dog, the stag panicked and fled from side to side while the smartly coached Olaju circled around to his front to scare him off. Joe waited for the stag to run in front of him and raised his shotgun and pulled the trigger.
The long gunshot echoed through the forest, finally drowned out by the silence. The deer let out one last wail.
Olaju barked from the sidelines while Joe raised his muzzle threateningly at the stag from a little distance, and although it was rather risky to approach before confirming whether the prey was dead or not, there seemed to be no need to worry as the stag was already out of breath.
As I got closer, I realized that it was a deer with big antlers and a big body. Although it would be a bit hard to bring it back, Kai would be very happy to see it, wouldn’t he?
Joe took out a rope and leaped off his horse and began tying the deer’s limbs.
Suddenly he heard the sound of dead leaves being stepped on, and Joe gripped his shotgun in alarm, signaling Olajo to be quiet. There seemed to be several of them, perhaps a group of country hunters, and it would be a problem if they were discovered. Joe turned his horse to avoid them.
“Young Master! Aren’t you Young Master Qiao?”
From behind came what turned out to be a familiar voice, and Joe looked back in surprise.
“Thaddeus!!!”
The men who appeared not far from the forest were none other than Thaddeus, the first squire at Joe’s father’s side, and his all under him.
“Indeed that information is true, a few days ago someone came to inform that you had been seen in this forest. The Count is very worried about you, please come back with me.”
Joe was momentarily speechless at the suddenness of the situation.
Kay had been groggy until that night because Jakob had spiked last night’s raw rabbit blood with sleeping pills.
The sun was setting and the room was dark. Yakob opened the screen, rang the bell for the servants to light the candles, and then unlocked the door from the inside.
Under the swaying orange candlelight, Kay was even more voluptuous. Suddenly, Kay unconsciously turned her head in Jakob’s direction, regular breaths exhaling from her slightly parted lips.
“Uh… Jo…”
Kai let out a thin, dreamy murmur. Jakob’s expression shadowed for a moment, but then a thin smile surfaced.
“Listen carefully, young master. Mr. Joe is no longer coming back to this castle.”
Jakob snickered furtively and cupped Kay’s thin, white, jade-like hand and kissed it.
“Of course it will be hard at first, but you will surely forget Mr. Joe in no time. It’s just a matter of going back to your old life, and it won’t be difficult at all. Please forgive me for what I’ve done, it’s all entirely for your own good. From now on, let the little one comfort you instead of Mr. Joe. I have been admiring you for a long time, Young Master…”
Gradually his lips kissed their way from the back of his hand to his wrist, then embraced Kai’s neck and occupied his reddish, flowery lips. Lips that hadn’t been touched in I don’t know how long since they had been taken by force by the Duke were softer and sweeter than ever.
As Jacobs said, Joe didn’t return to the castle by the next morning either.
The first thing Kai did when he woke up after the drugs had worn off was to go to Joe’s room first, however there was not a trace of Joe’s warmth to be found in the neatly made up bed.
Kay, who was terrified at not knowing where Joe had gone, inquired of the maids of honor during their regular morning ablutions, but none of them had ever met Joe in the morning.
“Did he go out?”
“Maybe, but we’re not sure where he went…”
I can’t get any answers even if I ask.
“How could Jo have gone out if she wouldn’t v. me…”
Kai, who was looking out the window at the scenery, muttered to himself, somehow always unable to wave away that touch of uneasiness in his chest.
“Something called for me?” Jakob bowed and pushed his way in with a salute.
“Ah… Yakob, do you know where Joe has gone? I can’t find him.”
Kay asked the butler as he sat in his rocking chair. As a result, Jakob’s expression suddenly became grave and his speech faltered.
“He…”
“What happened during the time I was asleep?” Kai looked skeptically at Jakob.
“Mr. Joe hasn’t returned since last night after suddenly leaving the castle.” Jakob answered in a whisper with his back to Kai.
“Didn’t come back? What’s going on here? Where did he go?”
“I don’t know either. Mr. Qiao sneaked out without everyone’s knowledge, and Little has sent people out to look for him, but there’s no sign of him, so maybe he’s gone to a place outside the forest.”
“How is that possible?”
Kay had trouble believing that Joe would sneak out without his knowledge and actually never return.
“Young Master.”
Jakob opened his mouth as if it were difficult to speak. Kay, whose mind was in turmoil, looked up at him, her green eyes full of worry.
“When I went to pick up food supplies some time ago, I heard a rumor that something big had happened in Dorno City, that Mr. Jo’s older brother had suddenly died of an acute illness, and that the second son would probably inherit the title…”
“So what? Jakob, what exactly is the point?” Kai’s green pupils glared sternly at Jakob.
“I mean I don’t think it’s possible that Mr. Joe went back to Dorno City because he knew about it.”
“Nonsense.”
Kay got up from her rocking chair and walked over to the table, pulling a rosebush from a vase. The black cat, Linu, nimbly jumped onto the still-rocking chair.
“How could Joe go back to his own castle, he promised me he wouldn’t leave. And how could he possibly know what’s going on in Dornochtown when he’s with me every day? That’s something you should know better than I do.”
Kai glanced mockingly at the butler who had uttered the rumor, then turned away as if nothing had happened. However, his hands were shaking, and unconsciously he peeled the petals of the rose on his hands, and the crimson flakes crashed to the ground. He glanced at the petals and ruffled the bangs on his forehead again as if to calm himself.
The nameless angst and fear and anger shook Kay deeply.
“What is a verbal agreement? Maybe it was just a casual remark. Besides, Mr. Joe was out of town once at the time of the Duke’s death, so maybe that’s when he learned about it.”
“Jakob, you mean Joe isn’t trustworthy, don’t you?”
Kai’s tone of voice completely showed that he didn’t want to hear any more, and his slender body desperately tried to hold back the anger that was about to boil out. Yakob, though he saw it, continued to persuade without trepidation.
“Young master, think carefully, if Mr. Qiao didn’t have a premeditated plan, how could he have taken you to overlook the city of Dolno and then gone out without returning? He must have abandoned you because he wanted to obtain the title!”
“Stop it, Jakob! Your words are very unpleasant to me!” Kay exclaimed with a bowed head that was hard to take.
“No, please, you must listen to the little one. Surely you do not know? Mr. Joe’s mother was an underling who was used as a toy by the lord to play with. In other words, he is simply the illegitimate son of Count Obel. It’s not surprising that a man of such humble origins as him would be able to obtain a knighthood, even if he would be tempted by a false name.”
“Jakob! I forbid you to insult Joe! I absolutely trust Joe! He would never betray me! “
Kai shook his head vehemently in denial of what Jakob had said. He refused to believe that his beloved Joe would abandon him.
“Young master, you cannot trust anyone outside of this castle! People’s hearts are easily changed. Mr. Joe must be like the Duke who only wants your beautiful flesh to satisfy his own desires!”
Jakob’s words were like a sharp blade piercing deep into Kai’s heart, and Kai couldn’t hold back any longer.
“Shut up… Yakob! Shut up!” Kai suddenly turned around and yelled, and Yakob stood rigidly in place.
“Didn’t you hear me when I told you to shut up! You get out of here! I don’t want to see your face for a while!”
“Young Master…”
“Get out! Get out or I’ll kill you!”
Without wiping away the tears that filled his face, Kai pushed Jakob out the door with both hands and slammed the door behind him.
Kay crouched down on the bed and let out a cry that was audible even to Jakob outside the door.
“Young Master…, just cry while you can. After the tears are gone, forget all about Mr. Jo.” Yakob whispered softly towards the closed door of the room.
After a week, Joe still hadn’t returned. Kay was in tears every day, no matter who tried to talk her out of it. Just thinking about Joe turned Kay into a tearful mess.
And ever since he knew Joe was gone he never drank raw blood or even ate food. His body was weakening day by day, and he spent most of the day in bed.
“Young Master, I’m going to the marketplace later to pick up the supplies needed for winter. You can order me whatever you want.”
“Leave it to you to do it, anything.”
Kai turned his back to him breathlessly, and Jakob stared helplessly at his master’s back, not wanting to give him any more incentive.
“By the way, young master, take a trip to your deceased uncle’s castle in Wallachia next month. It will be quite difficult to winter here this year, as it will be hard to find humans in Obel who can serve as your food. It should be much easier if it’s in Wallachia, right?”
Yakob, who was about to leave the room, suddenly remembered the matter and entreated Kai. But Kay gave him no answer.
“Please think about it, there’s still time anyway.” Jakob sighed silently.
“Please be sure to drink the raw blood today, and I will be back this afternoon.” Yakob walked out of the room after a respectful bow.
“oo… oo… oo”
Burying his head in the feather pillow, Kai’s suppressed sobs filled every corner of the room. He hadn’t realized that Joe’s absence from town had made him so sad and lonely, and he hadn’t thought for a moment that he would actually miss someone’s body heat so much.
Jo, why did you suddenly disappear? It’s too much… too much. To leave without saying a word.
Do you hate me? Did you leave because I tied you down? Is a bloodsucker like me unworthy of your love? Or did you choose the title of Count over me, as Jacob said? Answer me, Joe!
Kay’s grip on the silk sheets tightened as the sound of the carriage Yakob was traveling in came from outside the window.
“┅┅”
Having cried her heart out, Kai suddenly looked up thoughtfully. Why not go and make sure for yourself? Just go to Joe’s castle and witness the fact for yourself. It would be too easy to get out of here now that Jakob wasn’t around anyway.
“Olajo! Olajo!”
Kai jumped out of bed and ran to the balcony calling the wolfhound’s name. Olaju happily came flying goodbye from the patio.
“You come along too. You’re the only one I can count on these days.”
Kai clung to the wolfhound’s neck as his peach-colored tongue licked his master’s face over and over again.
Snapping sand, flocks of birds swept past Kai’s head. This forest had changed little from the time of his initial encounter with Joe, and Kai watched the scenery around him as he made his way towards the exit of the forest.
Treading on the fallen leaves on the ground, Olaju stepped ahead to clear the way for Kai. Kai’s eyes rested on a small pool in front of him, and his feet naturally headed there.
That day, the Duke came to the castle early in the morning and brought Kai to this forest after making him drink a strange medicine. Although Kai didn’t know what kind of medicine it was, his body was burning like fire. As a result, Kai could not bear to go to the castle, so he masturbated by the small pool and was seen by Joe.
Kay remembers the day well.
Leaning down, he gently scooped up the pool water, the cold water slipping between Kai’s fingers, creating a ring of water on the surface.
“Jo…”
Drops of Kai’s tears fell, widening the ripples.
Olaju let out a whimpering bark biting and tugging at Kai’s coat, as if to tell Kai to go see something. Kai stood up and went with him.
“Olaju, what did you find?”
After Olaju sniffed thoughtfully at the smell, he then ran into a pile of grass and articulated something and walked over to Kai.
“This is…”
Kai immediately blanched at the sight. What Orajou was carrying in his mouth was the same short sword that Kai had once upon a time stuck his handkerchief in the trunk of a tree while playing a game with Joe.
No mistake. The hilt of the sword is covered with rubies and sapphires, and the Bluebells’ coat of arms is engraved with two dragons intertwined. But the lozenge should have been on Joe’s body!
That means Joe was here?”
Kai gripped his short sword and looked around, maybe Joe was nearby.
“Jo… Jo! Are you there? Answer me if you are! Jo!”
Kay called Joe’s name and wandered around the forest. But all he got was the sound of the wind and the swaying of the leaves.
Kay’s heart felt like a big hole had opened up and she couldn’t find a trace of Joe in such a vast forest.
The cold wind picked up fallen leaves and caressed Kai’s cheek, then grew stronger, curling Kai’s long hair in the air. A crow took off noisily, and Kai followed it enviously. If I had wings, I could fly to Jo’s side immediately….
Kai leaned against the tree trunk and slowly slid down.
“Joe.”
Do you really not want me? Do you really hate me? Kai cried out in pain as he crouched on the dry grass. Olaju leaned in to comfort him, and Kai wrapped his arms around his majestic body and buried his face in his silvery-white fur.
“Hey, what are you doing there?”
Suddenly the grass behind Kai was parted and Kai looked back in surprise as three tall men stood there looking at him.
“Haven’t seen you before, where are you from?”
Seeing that they each carried shotguns on their shoulders, they must have been the village’s hunters. It was the first time Kai had seen a human other than Joe outside of town, and he didn’t feel intimidated.
“Don’t be afraid, we’re hunters from a village nearby, are you lost?”
One of the men crouched down and looked at Kai for a few moments before whistling appreciatively.
“Hey, this kid’s a top class mile.”
The man marveled at Kai’s beauty, and after looking him over from head to toe, he rested his eyes on the white pattered legs vaguely exposed between Kai’s pajamas, and a lecherous gaze surfaced in the man’s eyes.
Kai involuntarily shivered all over. He’d seen that gaze too many times. Yes, it was the same gaze the man the Duke had brought with him had given himself.
The sound of that swallowing was especially clear, and Kai’s whole body got goosebumps and hugged himself tighter. He turned his body around and tried to stand up, but was unable to do so and fell into a sitting position again. His long hair fell to his chest, and his knees shook uncontrollably.
“Hey, are you okay? Why are you wobbling?” The man who couldn’t look away put his hand on Kai’s shoulder.
“Don’t touch me!”
With a snap, Kai batted the man’s hand away. Kai loathed the touch of humans, especially men with bad intentions like this one.
The only one who can touch his body is Joe.
Kay shuddered as if glaring hard at the men, her green eyes glowing with disgust. The demonic look made the men instantly look away.
“Hm… why are you so angry? I’m being kind.”
The man disdainfully sought approval from his companions, and the other men nodded in agreement. Yet there was a hint of contempt in their attitudes.
“Pretty boy, where are you from?”
When the man tried to approach Kai again, Olaju stood up and made a threatening noise, opening his front feet and lowering his body to show his sharp canines.
“Woah~ It’s scary. Tegulay, do something about it.”
The men are invisible behind the other men, and Olaju bravely stands in the way of the men to protect his master.
“It’s not like we’re going to eat your master, why are we being so mean?”
The man named Tegure stepped forward to address Olaju, however Olaju still bared his fangs and let out a warning whine.
With wolf blood flowing in its body, it had sharp canine teeth, frowned tightly, and the hair on its entire body stood up as vicious as if it was about to pounce and devour someone right away.
The hunters, of course, knew that an enraged animal was not to be messed with, so they winked meaningfully at each other and prepared to leave.
“Fine! Let’s go since we’re not welcome.”
The men had finally disappeared into the bushes where they had originally appeared. Kai watched the men disappear completely before letting out a long breath.
“Scared me to death. Olaju, I’m glad you were there…”
Kai hugged the wolfhound gratefully. Olaju also settled down wagging his tail in reassurance and reverted back to his original gentle family dog.
“Ah…”
A wave of dizziness caused Kai to fall to the ground again. Maybe it was because he hadn’t been drinking rabbit blood for a while, his body was getting weaker and weaker. It’s not really a gamble, it’s just that I can’t bring myself to drink it at all.
“Why did it have to be at a time when I wanted to go to Jo…”
Kay wiped the tears from her face and slowly got up. Couldn’t delay here any longer, might meet another human. Kay stumbled onward, Joe’s Dorno City was a long way off.
In the bushes there were several pairs of eyes watching Kai’s every move, the three hunters from earlier. They peeked at Kai as they pretended to leave.
“Hey, judging by that kid’s clothes, he’s probably a young master of some noble family, right? The pajamas he’s wearing are made of silk, and you can see a real ball necklace through them.” One of the men said as he hid from the distance and watched Kai.
Unaware of this in the slightest, Kai continued on into the forest with Olaju.
In addition to her beautiful face, Kay’s swaying back and long, shiny black hair teased men’s desires.
“Idiot! Do you even need to say that? Have you seen his feet? Thin and white, so unlike a pair of man’s legs.”
Tegulay recalled Kai’s thighs that he had just spied and put his hand to his chin grinning.
“Shiny white, almost as white as a woman’s.” Dogru said.
“Yeah, pretty boy. Wonder where it’s from?” Jools had a salivating grin on his face.
“Heh heh heh… what’s that got to do with us? How was it? It’s been a long time.”
“Yeah, it’s nice to have a change of pace once in a while, and I’m tired of playing with women around here anyway.”
“But what if we get caught after gang-raping him?” Joule, who spoke the least of the three, worriedly inquired to Dogru.
“I’ve got it covered.”
“What way?” Tegulay looked puzzled.
“I suppose you’ve heard the legends of this forest?”
“Ah, I heard it from my grandfather when he was still alive. Something about a marquis who lived deep in the forest, and after he was poisoned by a lord somewhere, the spirit of his grudge turned into a vampire and came back to life, and later ran back to suck that lord’s blood to kill him. So to this day there are vampires living in that castle that sneak up on people who enter the forest. Right?”
“That’s right. We can use this legend to falsely accuse that kid of being a vampire, so that no one will speak up even if we torture him any more. If that kid doesn’t listen, we’ll kill him after having a good time with him, and when the village people ask, we’ll just say that we let him be ambushed after he confessed under severe torture. The body will be buried in the forest and no one will even know about it.”
A cruel smile floated at the corners of Dogru’s mouth. He was the most ferocious and wolfish and brutal of the three men.
“That means… dead people don’t talk, right?” Tegulay also laughed.
“This is going to be fun, not only do we have fun to enjoy, but we’re turning into ghost-catching heroes. As expected of a Dogru, bad ideas move especially fast.”
“Son of a bitch, can you talk? It’s called being smart.” Dogru smugly knocked Jurr on the head, while Tegulay laughed wickedly.
“Now that we’ve decided, let’s get that kid and kill that wolfhound on the way. Hmph! The animal still dares to defy humans.”
The men sneaked up behind Kai as if they were chasing prey, as hunters they did this sort of thing as a matter of routine, often working in threes to catch their prey. Avoiding the wind and keeping their voices down, they slowly approached their target step by step.
Olaju, who had felt a little faint sound, suddenly let out another low whimper.
“What’s wrong?”
As he walked under the huge heather tree, Kai realized that Olaju didn’t look right, so he stood and looked in all directions, but didn’t notice anything.
At that moment, Dogoru jumped out by parting the thick grass.
“We meet again, boy.”
“Ah…”
Kai took two or three steps backward, and this time from the grass in the opposite direction emerged Teguile, while from the other direction appeared Joule.
The men approached Kai from three directions with lewd smiles, while the other direction was blocked by a large heather tree, making it impossible to escape. Kai stepped back but tripped over the roots of the tree that lay on the ground, and the men continued to close in on Kai without letting up.
“Stay back!”
With a trembling hand Kai drew the short sword strapped between his thighs to protect himself. It was the short sword that Joe had left behind.
“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. But there’s no turning back, young man.
“I’m sorry,” said Dogru with a vile, lecherous smile. Kai turned his head away, his hand holding his short sword trembling unceasingly.
“If you don’t want to get hurt, be a good boy and come with us and take you to a nice place.”
As Dogru tried to take Kai’s hand, Olaju yelped and lunged to bite. The man nimbly dodged it, and Olaju changed direction to jump up again when suddenly a gunshot rang out in the sky. Olaju’s body fell out of the air in a spray of red blood in front of Kai’s eyes.
“Olaju!”
Kai yelled out. Olaju let out another brief whimper before dying, blood slowly spreading across his silver pelt.
“There’s no one who can help you anymore, so I think it’s better for you to obediently tie your hands. By the way, throw that short sword first.
”
Kai, who was holding Ota’s shipping body, had a gun pressed against his back in the center of his back.
“Yaaaah!”
“Yo, that’s two or three strikes.”
Kai suddenly turned around and backhanded his sword towards Tegulay. However after being easily flashed through, his hands were instead pressed against the ground by the backbenders, and the short sword fell from Kai’s hands.
“What do you want to do with me?” Kay inquired as she glared at the men trembling.
“Take you back to the village as a vampire.”
At that, Kai’s green eyes widened in shock and his whole body stiffened. How do they know my true colors? No, by the sound of his voice it seemed that he didn’t know. But…
Shock and fear stopped Kai from trembling, what were they trying to do to themselves? The confusion of the unknown deepened Kay’s fear.
“Heh heh heh heh… If you don’t want to die, you should obediently come back with us.”
“What are you afraid of? We’re not going to kill you, we just want a good quickie. Be good and we’ll let you have a good time.” With that, Tegulay and Jool reached down and peeled off the hem of Kai’s pajamas. Of course Kai knew what they were going to do.
“Don’t… don’t! Let go! Let go! Don’t! Help… Jakob! Jo!”
Kai desperately tried to dislodge the men’s hands, but it was hard to beat them with two fists, and in no time at all Kai was pushed to the ground with their hands tied behind his back. The thin rope around his wrists was embedded deep into his flesh, and Kai couldn’t stop moaning in pain.
“Hey, hey, I’ll love you when we get back to the village.”
Dogoru slipped his hand into Kai’s pajamas and stroked his inner thigh, then gripped the parting of his femur as if he were sure.
“I’m telling you, if you don’t behave yourself you’re going to suffer. Like this!” After saying that, Dolru twisted Kai’s flower stalk hard.
“Awww!” The sharp pain caused Kay to wail before shedding large tears.
“Hey… rub some of the dog’s blood on him so that it looks like he’s just sucked blood.”
Jool wiped Ola Jool’s blood on Kay’s pajamas, and all Kay could do was shake her head and cry desperately.
“I told you to be good and obedient and you don’t understand, do you! Be careful I’ll break your life root!”
Tegulay slaps a struggling Kai, who is knocked to the ground and kicked and kicked like a toy by the men.
The leaves made a rustling, noisy noise.
Kai’s screams echoed long into the forest before finally being swallowed by silence.
On the other hand, Joe, who has fallen for Jakob’s scheme, is escorted back to town by his father’s guards. Although Joe resisted fiercely, it was a futile endeavor. That’s when the short sword fell off.
Upon returning to town, Joe is immediately informed of his brother’s death due to illness and that he must become the official heir to the throne.
However, this sudden realization was completely unacceptable to Joe. Although he was the second son of a lord, Joe had lived in contempt since he was a child because of his mother’s lowly status. He was sent to boarding school as soon as he could understand the world, and was left to fend for himself until he graduated from university in Paris.
Although Joe was recalled back to Dolno to assist his brother in law after completing his studies, it was just a name on the surface, and could not change the contemptuous eyes of others towards him. So the self-aware Joe also let nature take its course, as if deliberately trying to disobey the disobedient seemingly every day to live a prodigal life, and by the way can also avoid some unnecessary struggles.
However, he didn’t realize that the death of his older brother would turn Joe’s fortunes around a hundred and eighty degrees, and he would jump from being a despised bastard to becoming the heir to the lord’s throne. This disgusts Joe, who has no desire whatsoever to be given the title of Earl. For Joe, life with Kay is all he has, his happiness, and he doesn’t care at all about the superficial fame and fortune.
Joe was made to sit up and take notice by the growing agitation.
“How’s that? Joe, made up your mind to inherit my title to rule this territory?”
With the sound of footsteps, Joe’s father, Count Obel, entered Joe’s room. But he spoke outside the door each time, never opening it to step a step further. It was like this from before, whenever Joe came home for a rare visit, not to mention a kiss, not even a hug. So Joe never treated him as his father either.
“My lord father, I never wanted to inherit your title, and I never will. So I beg you to banish me from the city, just as you did before. As for the title, just ask Cousin Philip to inherit it.”
Joe stared bitterly at the door, only to hear his father laughing on the other side of it.
“You are young. I will not ask you to rule. With your sister Charlotte married off and your brother Char dying of illness, you are the only one related to me by blood green. Although you are not born of the rightful family, as long as you are the son of a lord, I will never allow you to act recklessly. If you don’t agree to inherit the throne, I won’t let you out.”
Having had this conversation more times than he could count, Joe wanted to dart back to Kai at once. But with the door locked, the guards watching, and the bronze panes on the windows, the room was no different from a prison.
How’s Kay doing now? It was as if Joe could hear him crying. At the moment Joe only hated himself for being so careless as to fall for Jakob’s ploy and ruin his promise to be with Kai forever.
The Rabbit massacre was Yakob’s doing too, wasn’t it?
Joe looked out the window at the foggy forest in the distance, Kai’s castle completely invisible under the dense jungle.
“Kay, I will come back to you. Trust me when I come back.”
Joe gripped and shattered the glass in his palm, and drops of bright red blood fell to the ground. Looking at the crimson blood, Joe thought about the people far away.
However, he doesn’t yet know that Kai has fallen into the wrong hands in order to find him.
Captured by Dogoru and the others and returned to the village, Kai is hung from a large heather tree in the square and tortured in front of a crowd of villagers.
At first many of the villagers who saw Kay’s beautiful face were sympathetic, but by the time one man revealed the fact that he had witnessed him and Joe frolicking in the forest, there was a complete lack of mercy on Kay’s part.
Contempt and loathing, curiosity, and rampant lust filled the eyes of every villager who stared at Kai. Relentless whips tore at Kai’s skin, vicious curses and stone attacks, and no matter how much Kai cried out, no one would stand up and say a word on his behalf, and there were even those who held on to see what was going on.
Kai didn’t understand why he was treated this way, at least he hadn’t attacked anyone in the village, and the villagers didn’t have any real proof that Kai was a vampire, they just assumed and beat him up based on a few words from Dogru and the others.
However, despite the excruciating pain, Kai did not admit who he was. He was proud of his Ramblers’ blood, and would not admit defeat and reveal his identity, no matter how painful it was, which was an even more unbearable humiliation for Kai.
He looked at each of the men who had abused him as he moaned in agony, and Kai would never forget the faces of these men for the rest of his life.
The twine creaked and rolled as poor Kai was suspended in the middle of the hall of the underground church chapel.
The chilly air of the basement caressed Kai’s cheeks, and he half-opened his eyes as if awakening from a long sleep, his whole body in severe pain, and his wrists hanging by the neck no longer feeling anything. Kai’s head hung helplessly, and his long hair swayed slightly. Kai’s eyes were open, but his vision was wandering in the air, his pupils unfocused.
Wouldn’t it be nice to just die like this? Kai suddenly thought so.
Unable to find Joe, but also captured by Dogru and the others and severely beaten by the villagers, his heart is filled with sadness and despair.
Kirikou Kirikou… The ear-splitting sound of the door opening was followed by a heavy slam.
“Really… those villagers are too much, aren’t they? What if they torture me to death before I can enjoy it.”
Jool said, walking over to Kai with a candlestick in hand, followed by Tegure and Dogru. The three smiled contentedly as they looked at Kai, who was hanging in mid-air and unconscious.
Jur used the flame of a candle to light the candles side by side on the altar, and the otherwise gloomy subterranean chapel blazed with light.
A white statue of the Virgin Mary made of marble smiled holily from the altar. This underground church was built when witch hunting was in full bloom, and as that fad faded, it grew unloved and almost fell into ruin.
They brought Kai here under the pretense of helping the villagers dispose of him. In addition to the fact that no one would approach this place, it was also fairly well soundproofed, so that what was going on inside couldn’t be heard outside at all. They chose this sacred place in order to accomplish their goal.
“Don’t complain, Jool. The boy is already ours, and no one will say a word if we have to kill him.”
Dogru roughly grabbed Kai’s front hair and pulled him to his feet, a surge of excruciating pain sweeping through Kai’s body every time the ropes moved.
“Umm…”
Kai moaned twice before coming fully awake, and Dogoru came up to his face and stuffed Kai’s lips.
“Uh-huh!”
Kai’s eyes widened in disgust and he tried to turn his head away. However Dogru stiffly turned him in his direction and stuck his tongue in his mouth. Jool whistled in appreciation.
Dolgoru’s lewd tongue curled around Kai’s soft red tongue, and Kai was so disgusted that she almost wanted to vomit. She wanted to bite his tongue while she had the chance, but she couldn’t help but let him suck on it as she couldn’t move with her chin in his grip.
“It’s time for a good show.”
After letting go of Kai’s lips, Togure cut the rope from Kai’s hand and Kai fell to the ground. As if they had been waiting for it, Jool and Dogru then pounced on him.
“Don’t…!”
Before he could untie the ropes, Kai’s clothes were torn by the two beasts. Then the hands were pinned down by Jur and Tegulay lying on their backs on the ground, legs spread apart and a candlestick placed by Kai’s waist.
“Let’s enjoy it.”
Togaru used the firelight to reflect Kai’s femur and stroked it with his hand. Looking at the other two’s evil smiles, they must be taking turns later on as well.
The gnawing feeling made Kay’s whole body start to tremble.
“Oh… such delicate skin. The ass hole is like a flower bud.”
“Ahhh.”
Kay let out a thin shriek writhing her hips. Fingers without any moisturizing donned into Kay’s secret place, thrusting in one hard breath, spasms of pain taking over Kay’s lower body.
“So… it hurts. It hurts so much! Stop it!” Kai shook his head and cried out in pain.
“Cut the nagging! Hey, keep him quiet.” Dogru finished, grabbing Kai by the ankles. Jool, meanwhile, ripped off a corner of his pajamas and crumpled it into a ball and stuffed it in his mouth.
“∶.! “
A large number of tears welled up in Kai’s eyes, and Togaru’s fingers were testing the muscle contraction in Kai’s inner wall. Kay’s slender body arched sensually, and a gasp escaped from her mouth as she was unable to cry out.
“So this kid knows what it’s like to be a man and is desperately trying to shrink my fingers. Looking so cute I didn’t realize it was a slut.”
The men salivated obscenely.
“Heh heh heh… let us love you so much that we promise to make you feel so good that you won’t be able to straighten your back.”
“I think you must be a child molester raised by some noble, right? Walking around the forest in your pajamas in broad daylight.”
“Probably escaped.”
The men’s mouths talked sass while their hands kept tormenting Kai.
“That’s about right, isn’t it? Hey, turn this kid over onto his back.”
Dogru ordered the two men. It wouldn’t take more than a few seconds for Kai to be on all fours like a wild animal. With Dogru’s legs wedged between them, it was impossible to keep them together.
Hee, hee, hee, hee…, the men laughed at Kay’s shameful parts. Dogru’s hands spread Kay’s mounds and looked at the rose-colored buds that opened and closed as they were exposed to the air, and he couldn’t help but look at them with a greedy lust on his face.
“Uh… uh…”
Kay furrowed her moth-eyes and shuddered. Dogru’s slippery, sticky tongue was licking Kay’s taut bud.
As the crumbs of cloth were removed from her mouth, uncontrollable moans poured out of Kai’s mouth in a steady stream, and the hands supporting her body went limp without support.
“Almost ready? I’ll fill you up.”
“No! Don’t! Don’t!”
Kay shook her head hard in a desperate attempt to escape, but couldn’t stop the men’s lust from flaring up at the drop of a hat anymore.
“It’s so cozy. Hey, who’s next? “
After the animalistic lust, Dokuroku withdrew from Kai’s body, and Kai collapsed to the ground with his whole body weak. After being severely beaten by the villagers and then subjected to this kind of inhuman torture, Kai completely lost the ability to resist.
However, the men did not leave him alone. After Dogru came Tegure, and then Jules. Amidst the flickering candlelight, Kai was humiliated beyond recognition, and his cries filled the chapel.
After the men had raped the kaiju, the desire to wreak havoc burned relatively higher and higher, even though it had quelled the swelling in their strands.
“Hmph. The more I look at this kid the more I want to torture him.”
Dogru said looking around the chapel when suddenly the marble candlesticks on the altar broke into his eyes.
“Hoo-hoo…” a cruel shadow floated in his eyes.
“Hey, take that candlestick down.”
“What for?” Tegulay removed the candlestick as instructed, though he did not understand.
“We’re going to kill this kid anyway, so we might as well do it in a more fun way. Stick this in him.”
A momentary hesitation swept across the faces of both men, but immediately they smiled wistfully.
At this point Kay was unaware of the men’s cruelty and was sobbing in a muffled voice.
Tegulay walked over to Kai and looked down at him, and when Tegulay brought his hand up, Kai quickly bit him on the face. Sharp canines penetrated the man’s skin and blood oozed out immediately afterward. Tegulay retracted his hand after a startled cry of pain.
“Brat!”
An enraged Tegulay raised his hand in a gesture to strike Kai, who craned his neck in fear. Instead of hitting, however, the slap grabbed Kai’s ankle and dragged him forward.
“Don’t… stop… Please spare me!”
Kai cried and struggled but could not move Tegulay and was still being dragged along. On the way, Kai’s hands tried to grab the stone ladder but it was too much for him and he was pulled up in front of the altar made of the Great Luck Stone. With a push of his hands, Tegure sent Kai up to the altar. Jur and Dogru were standing there grinning lecherously at him and a chill ran through Kai’s back.
“I see you’re still in good spirits, how dare you bite me.”
Tegulay then walked up to the altar, showing his two companions the two wounds that had just been bitten by Kai, like those left by the beast’s teeth.
“The boy’s teeth are quite sharp, almost like a wolf’s.”
Tegulay grabbed Kai’s jaw and wrenched his mouth open. The Dogru did look slightly sharper than normal after looking at it, but Tegulay had overdescribed it as well. It hadn’t even occurred to them that Kai was a true bloodsucker species.
They grabbed Kai and made him straddle Tegulay, who was lying on the altar, and lifted him up high by the waist. Just above Tegulay’s face was Kai’s most humiliating part, and Tegulay stuck out his tongue and licked Kai’s shriveled stalk before taking the whole thing into his mouth. With that, Kai couldn’t escape. Although Kai knew that Togure had taken something and stood behind him, he didn’t know what it was.
“Hohoho… even though you’re an impostor vampire, it’s time to give it to you.”
Dogru grabbed Kai’s hair and laughed cruelly.
“Watch carefully, boy. This thing is about to go inside you.”
“Ah…” Kai’s face turned pale with fear.
The top portion of the candlestick in Dogru’s hand was the width of a small child’s wrist, not to mention the widening amplitude below the head.
“No… no!”
Kai yelled with all his strength, yet Dogru had already placed the tip of the candlestick in the bud doorway. The cold marble incited Kai’s fear even more, and he twisted desperately to escape, but the candlestick tip had already been pushed into the narrow doorway.
“Waaaaaahhhh!”
The cold tip pressed against Kay’s soft inner walls, the mouth of the wall swallowing the white foreign object inch by inch as it stretched wider and wider.
“AHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…”
The gruesome abuse caused Kai’s eyes to widen and she let out a wail as Dogru continued to shove the candlestick in without mercy. The hard object, which was several times thicker than a human’s sex, caused Kai’s buds to bloom, and bright red splashes of blood leaked red across the tip of the candlestick and down her thighs. Not only was it cruel, it was blasphemous. Damned, depraved human beings, a miserable world that makes even God weep.
“Aghoo… Unh. Uh-huh…”
The extreme pain caused Kay’s body to go into violent spasms and she began to shake unceasingly.
Lasting through the slight pain, Kai’s consciousness hazily began to skim over the remnants of something resembling a hallucination in his mind.
There were Joe’s gentle lids and shoulders that hugged him tightly. And a firm body that could take himself into the depths of pleasure.
Kay’s eyes overflowed with fresh tears.
I love him. I loved him more than anyone. But… he’s gone.
“Joe!” A shout erupted before Kai finally lost consciousness.
“Hey, is he dead?” Tegulay, who was lying under Kai’s body, asked Dogoru.
“Not yet. But he probably won’t live long if he bleeds this much if we leave him alone.”
Dogru roughly pulls out the candlestick and blood flows in rivulets. Suddenly the white image of the Virgin Mary rolled from the altar to the ground with a thud.
When the game was over, the men didn’t let Kai go and continued to ravage his torn and torn secret place. Kay was like a tattered doll at their mercy. It was not until dawn that the breathless Kai was freed by the men’s desires.
“Well? Do you want to have a drink here? Even if it’s to celebrate our elimination of the vampires.”
Togaru brought out the prepared bottles of wine and invited the other two to drink. The three of them then cast Kai aside and began to drink.
The berserkers’ feast continued until dawn, so drunk that each one slept like a corpse on the floor.
“Umm…”
A few rays of harsh sunlight streamed in through the cracked walls of the old building, casting themselves on Kai’s face. He moved his eyebrows to open his eyes, his cyan pupils finally coming to life as a line of tears slid naturally from the corner of his eyes.
Kai used the strength of his elbows to prop himself up and walk off the altar before picking up the statue that had tumbled to the ground. Then he looked at the men who were lying on the ground sleeping, Kai walked to them with light steps, stopped in front of the closest one, and smashed the statue of Mary in his hand into his head. Only to hear the sound of a card, DuoGeLu’s head cover should be cracked with the sound of the brain pulp overflowing, not even have time to send out a scream before the death of the spring.
An icy smile appeared on Kai’s face as he watched him die, and he bent his knees beside Dogru to slurp up his blood.
The raw human blood that he hadn’t drank in a long time made his originally bruised body return to its white pattering absolute beauty in an instant.
“Umm… phew.”
Letting out an intoxicated moan, the demonic nature in Kai’s body opened his eyes. He licked his lips that were red from the blood drain.
“No forgiveness… I will never forgive you.”
Kai starts attacking Tegulay, who also happens to wake up suddenly at that moment.
“Gah!”
Touching down on him Kai bit down on his throat immediately spurting blood.
” A. Wah wah wah wah wah wah… Help… Help… A! Vampire… He’s a real vampire!”
Waking up to the sound of Tegulay’s screams, Jool is scared out of his wits and desperately tries to crawl away. Kay leaves Tegulay’s body behind and steps closer to Jules.
“It was our bad! We were wrong! Please don’t kill me… spare me!” Jool cried and begged Kai for mercy, however it was too late.
“Ahhhhhhhh!” The horrible screams echoed through the chapel.
After enjoying the men’s blood, Kai avoided the people and returned to the forest. Upon entering the forest, he immediately spotted the body of Olaju in a gruesome state of death.
“Olaju… it’s all for me…”
Kai slowly knelt down and cradled the cold body of his beloved dog in his arms.
The castle is buzzing with the search for Kai.
“Where have you been? Worried to death about the little one.”
Yakob was so happy to see Kai’s safe return that he burst into tears. Then he saw Olaju’s body and realized that something was wrong, and he asked what had happened.
“┅┅”
Kay didn’t wipe away the streaks of tears that crisscrossed her face, just stood still as if lost in thought.
“Young master!”
However, Kai lost consciousness as if he had collapsed.
Knock, knock, knock. There’s a knock on the door.
“The door was open.” Kay lifted her lids slightly from the feather pillows to answer.
“Young Master,” Jakob slowly pushed the door open and walked to the far side of Kai’s bed.
“The youngest has buried Olaju in the southern court.” Jakob said as he put roses on the vase.
“Yeah? Tough luck. It was killed to save me.”
Kai, who had his back to Yakob, had his shoulders trembling slightly as if he were suppressing grief.
“Young Master… about the visit to Vatakia that I told you about last time…” Yakob looked at his master’s back painfully and spoke as if he had difficulty in speaking.
“┅Well, I’ll go. It won’t be possible to live here for long anyway, the villagers will find this place one day.”
Kay made her decision and slowly sat up, ruffling the disheveled hair scattered across her forehead.
“But before going…”
Put I’ve got things to do” The words were swallowed back and Kai fell silent.
Kai couldn’t forgive the villagers or the hateful humans who had abused him. He wanted to show those people what true terror meant, to make them taste the humiliation they had suffered.
Betrayed by the only one he loved, Joe, he had nothing more to lose. Nothing…
Gazing out the window, Kai’s eyes were filled with a sad, resentful color. He got out of bed and walked out onto the balcony to look at the swing set in the distance where he had frolicked with Joe, and Kai’s heart was filled with nothing but a sense of silent boredom.
Looking at his master like this, a look of worry rose to Jakob’s face.
Kay can’t trust anyone anymore.
It was only a few days later that the bodies of Dogru and the others were discovered by the villagers. And almost at the same time, rumors of an attack by vampires spread in a neighboring village.
They saw it, the look of a beautiful young man dragging a long white coat with a mouth full of blood as he sucked the raw blood from his victims.
They remembered the face of that teenager. The beautiful and stunning features, the long hair as black as the darkness of the night, and the slender body. Blood dripped from his lips, and his demonic gaze penetrated the victim. No one could move under the gaze of his single green eye.
O you stupid humans! I’m going to suck all your blood!”
Kai attacked the villagers regardless of night or day, male or female, young or old.
Even the priest of the church became a victim under the teeth of Kai’s dog. He originally did not believe in the existence of God, and the cross was even more fearless. Anyway, the vampires who feared the cross were just a religious product made up by the churchmen. A long time ago, in order to preserve the family’s property status and honor and insist on inbreeding marriages, the Marquis of Bluebells family suddenly gave birth to bloodsucking human race in a certain generation. Under the continuation of inbreeding marriages from generation to generation, finally the Marquis of Bluebells’ family all became bloodsuckers, so to Kai, who was descended from bloodsuckers, the teachings of the gods were simply meaningless.
The priest desperately held the cross in front of his body, his mouth crying out verses from the holy book as Kai laughed at his foolishness and drove his sharp teeth deep into his throat.
“AHHHHHHH… Uh-huh-huh-huh…”
Kai’s crazy laughter echoed through the forest. The vampire that people thought had been subdued by Dokuroku resurfaced, pushing the peaceful village down into an abyss of terror.
final chapter
“Young master, it’s too dangerous to stay here any longer. Let’s hurry up and set off towards Wallachia.”
Jakob greeted Kai, whose clothes were leaking blood as he returned, and soaking in the rosebud bath that Jakob had prepared, Kai played with his hair as it swayed in the water.
“Always giving you trouble.” Kai looked at Jakob, who was standing guard, and gave him a gentle smile.
“Don’t say that, it is my duty to serve you. I will always be Young Master’s slave.”
Jakob smiled coyly. Kai tilted his head up to look at him, a scooped-up smile lifting the corners of his mouth.
“The preparations for departure should all be almost complete, the only things left are your belongings and His Lordship’s relics. I will immediately send someone to pack them.”
Taking the towel Yakob handed to her, Kai gently wiped her body before wrapping herself in it.
“I’ll leave it all to you from now on.”
Jakob followed Kai out of the bathroom, feeling rather uneasy inside.
Lately Kai seemed as vapid as a ghost, ready to wither like a lifeless rose if no one guarded him carefully.
In all the time he’d been with Kai, Jakob had never seen his master like this. As if he didn’t care about anything. That’s why Jakob wanted to move to Wallachia earlier for the sake of the young master. He had thought that after getting rid of Joe he would be back to his old self, but now he realized that it was all a miscalculation on his part. He hadn’t realized at all that Kay’s love for Joe was so deep.
After arriving in Wallachia and starting a new life, I believe the young master will surely forget Mr. Joe soon.” Yakob gazed at Kai’s back as he wiped his hair secretly calculating in his heart.
“Jakob, do you think fate can change?” Wearing the new pajamas that Jakob handed her, Kai turned and asked the question abruptly.
“I don’t know.” Unable to guess the meaning of Kai’s question, Jakob could only answer vaguely.
“Fair enough. Who would know about such things?” Kai smiled bitterly to himself as if speaking to himself.
The moment came when fate began to turn, and it was an early morning when the east began to whiten.
Kai was woken up by the noise outside. He changed his sleeping position and looked out the window through the curtains. It wasn’t even light yet, why was there a red light outside? There’s no way there’s a fire, is there? If there was a fire in this dry winter weather, the forest could go up in flames in an instant.
Kay was restless and ready to get up. At that moment, the door to the room, which had been closed, was roughly pushed open, and Yakob stormed in, furious.
“What’s going on? What happened? ” Kai inquired of the butler as he straightened his sleep messed up clothes.
“The villagers have come to arrest you, young master! Please run away.” Yakob replied, coming up for air.
“Catch me…”
Kai moved his lips slightly, turning his head to see the torches in the hands of the villagers outside the window illuminating the neighborhood, and he frowned his slender moth-eye brows in disgust.
The time has finally come…?”
“Young master, you must never leave this room, do you know that? Never act rashly until I come to invite you.”
With that, Jakob removed the shotgun that adorned the wall and handed it to Kai.
“You know how it works, don’t you? If you shoot anyone as soon as they approach the balcony you shoot him and I will prepare the horses in the meantime. Please remember that you must not open the door okay?”
Only when he saw Kai nodding in agreement did Jakob hurry off again.
Kai let out a few snickers deep in his throat and sat down on the edge of the bed, holding his lance.
Kai had expected this day to come, he just didn’t expect it to be so soon, because he had angered the villagers with his recent atrocities. However, if he didn’t do that, Kai wouldn’t be able to vent his anger. He hated the humans, he hated the people who betrayed him, and he hated Joe. And so he had anticipated the consequences of turning his love into hate and attacking the humans.
There is nothing left to want or lose for yourself.
Joe, you’re the only person I’ve ever wanted, but I realize that’s a dream that will never come true. Kay reached up and wiped away her tears, placing the gun in her lap. The gun’s magazine was loaded with silver bullets.
It’s getting brighter out there, are the villagers’ torches increasing, or is it already light? Those people shouting are villagers, right?
How hard is it to come so early in the morning?
“Let’s just end it all. I’ll finally be able to free myself from the spell binding.” Kai himself was incredulous that he could be so calm in such a situation.
On the other hand, Joe, who was secluded in the city of Dorno, lived a day of irritation and anxiety. Even if he agreed to inherit the title, his wily father would not let Joe out easily. Knowing this but unable to do anything about it, Joe really hated himself for being useless.
Father hadn’t come back to lobby for three days. Has he given up? No… No way. Watching the attendants come and go in the city, it seemed that something had happened. However, Jo thought that even if something big was happening in the city, it had nothing to do with him, so even when he saw the mayor of his neighboring village coming to town and shouting something, Jo just lay in bed and ignored it.
However, today’s commotion didn’t seem quite like the usual. Looking down from the window, he saw them as if they were preparing their weapons. A sense of foreboding swept through Joe’s mind, an unspeakable uneasiness.
Turning his eyes toward the forest, there was a plume of white smoke rising, was there a fire? Joe fidgeted and chewed on his thumb, where was this spine-tingling agitation coming from? With impatience, Joe grabbed a book and hurled it at the locked door of his room, walking back and forth across the room a few times before sliding his back against the door and sitting down.
There was the faint sound of talking coming from outside the door. It was the soldiers watching Joe killing their boredom and gossiping, I think.
“I’ve heard that village outside the forest is being raided by vampires every day, so the Count has given permission to go to the Burning Forest today.”
“Sh…!” Jo couldn’t believe her ears.
Vampire sneak attacks? Burning the forest? Then the white smoke is…”. He ran to the window and looked towards the forest, the direction where the white smoke was getting thicker was Kai’s castle.
“Kai!” What had happened to Kai during his own captivity?
“Hey! Open the door! Let me out! Please open the door!”
Joe yelled and knocked desperately on the door, banging it with his shoulder and kicking it with his foot. But the door remained motionless. The soldiers would never open the door without their father’s orders.
“Damn it! All his dogs!”
Joe cursed fiercely for the second time and bit his lower lip reluctantly. Since there was no way out through the door there was only the window. But the windows had been fitted with brass bars and panes.
“What to do…”
Joe looked around the room and loi his eyes stopped on a chair. As if thinking of something, Joe lifted the chair high above the ceiling.
It has to work!”
He slammed the chair hard against the bronze pane. With a snap, the bronze did indeed break in response, leaving a space free for a man to burrow through. Joe snickered, pulling down the curtains and tying them into strips to dangle from the window before scaling the wall himself, and before he could reach the ground, Joe couldn’t wait to let go and leap down.
Joe stealthily made his way through the nearby bushes, fortunately not much was passing by. He carefully sneaked into the stable.
Tethered in the stable, Schiffer saw his master and hissed and whinnied with excitement.
“It’s all on you.” Joe stroked the horse’s head prayerfully, straddled it and sped off.
“Don’t let the village people into the castle! Keep the doors closed! “
Jakob’s voice was tense and urgent as he instructed his servants to shoot the villagers trying to climb into the castle with their guns, and fierce gunfire rang out. Kay peered at the sight from a crack in the curtains.
“It’s only a matter of time before we have to hold out any longer.” Kai muttered to himself as he picked up the black cat wrapped around his feet.
“Don’t worry, I’ll save you.” Kai opened the balcony window a crack.
“Go on.”
He pushed the black cat out onto the balcony. Linu turned his head and purred reluctantly, and Kai looked at him tenderly.
“Run away, I’ll be right behind you.” He whispered in silent chatter.
The villagers came in like locusts after breaking down the door. The original beautiful and elegant garden was trampled and ravaged by them, and the beautiful rose garden was burned to the ground in the fire.
“Young Master! We can’t hold out much longer! Please run away quickly! I’ve already prepared the horses, it’s not too late to go out from the backyard.”
Yakob yelled and stormed into Kai’s room again. However Kai just shook his head.
“You tell the others to go first, I’m going to stay until the end, because I am the owner of this castle and must live and die with it.” There was calmness in his tone.
“Young Master!” Jakob was dumbfounded by Kai’s reply.
“But isn’t it too dangerous for you to do that?”
“I will be fine, no need to worry about me. You arrange for the others to go first as soon as possible, as they are ordinary people without any sins. It is amazing that a vampire like me can be worshipped as my Lord and taken care of in every way, and I am truly grateful to them.”
Kai sat back in his chair and closed his eyes after letting out a long breath.
“This is an order. You will arrange for their escape at once, or I will never move.” A stern, powerful voice commanded Yakob.
“Master…”
Yakob was moved to tears as his eighteen year old master tried desperately to carry out his duty as a master in such a life and death situation. Jakob couldn’t object but obeyed.
“I understand, I will do as you say. But young master, when everyone has left please make sure you leave as quickly as possible.” Yakob uneasily urged his master.
When the butler had gone out, Kai stood up and picked up the shotgun. The heavy body of the gun was engraved with fine patterns, and he ran his slender fingers back and forth over it.
The noise outside the city was getting more and more intense.
“!!”
Suddenly, a rock came through the air and landed at Kai’s feet after breaking the glass window. More and more rocks flew in one after another.
Screaming and cursing like crazy, Kai closed his eyes and listened to the voices.
Joe, we’re never going to see each other again, are we? Kay felt mournful just thinking about it.
The bed and everything in the room had a residual shadow of Joe that simply could not be erased. Instead, it followed Kai like a shadow.
Why can’t I forget you even though I hate you so much?
Kay crouched on the bed and sobbed uncontrollably.
The villagers, anxious about not being able to get inside the castle, began to use fire instead, probably to smoke Kai to death. White smoke came in through the cracks in the glass windows, and Kai started coughing on his staff as he had trouble breathing.
Yakob should have let all his underlings escape safely, right? Kai didn’t want them, who had served him so well for so long, to be involved. They were the only ones he could trust.
One by one, the village people set fire to various parts of the castle, and the sound of rage and flames and burning grew louder.
Kai sighed deeply, this should be the end.
“I’ve been prepared for this for a long time.”
The words were like something Kai had said to himself, and perhaps he had been waiting for this moment to come.
“Young master, the subordinates have all been captured. The castle was surrounded by the village people long ago, and it’s completely impossible to escape.”
Jakob rushed into Kay’s room with a pale face.
“Is…? Then there’s only resignation.” Kai sighed, his helpless green eyes smiling forlornly.
“How’s it going down there?”
“It was very miserable, they set fire to any room they could, and if they couldn’t get in they broke the glass windows and threw in torches to burn them.” Jakob wiped his soot-covered face with his sleeve.
“Ah!”
Suddenly the glass window behind Kay broke and a torch was thrown in. Kay screamed and rushed out of the way. Yakob took off his shirt and tried desperately to extinguish the flames, but the fire had spread to the curtains and reached the ceiling.
“This city is finished.” Kai muttered to himself as he looked up at the charred ceiling, red lotus-colored flames engulfing the entire ceiling in the blink of an eye.
“Don’t be afraid young master, we will be saved.” Jakob tried to comfort Kai who had given up on everything, yet he himself knew very well that Ben was at the end of his rope.
“You need not comfort me, for I have known this day would come, and never even thought I would be saved. Rather than have me arrested and humiliated, I would rather die in this city in the name of the Marquis of Bluebells, the Lord of the City.”
Kay smiled and drew up a bouquet of roses in a vase. Even at a time like this the fragrance of the roses remained unchanged. Kai embraced the bouquet, his eyes endlessly sad. From the white smoke that was thickening in the room it seemed that the fall of the city would not take long.
“┅┅”
Suddenly, Joe’s smile came to Kai’s mind. Why would one remember his face at a time like this? Kai shook his head trying to wave away the visions of him, yet new ones kept surfacing.
“Jakob, it really is incredible.” Kai smiled to himself and bent into the rocking chair, the rosebuds falling from his lap.
“You mean?” Jakob picked up the flowers and handed them to Kai.
“Ah… I’ve been constantly remembering the past since just now.”
As if forgetting the dangers of the castle, Kay chatted vaguely with Yakob. The white fingers played with the rosebud thorns.
“Was it when you were a child?” Understanding his master’s clarity, Jakob also inquired in his usual speaking tone.
“No, it’s something that happened recently.”
Kai smiled like an innocent child, his long, fine hair leaping slightly with him whenever the rocking chair swayed.
“And strangely enough, all I can think of are things that have to do with Joe.” At the mention of this, Kay flashed a soft, bitter smile.
“The first time I met him, the time I lived with him. That must have been the happiest time of my life.”
The short period of time that they spent together every day without the Duke’s knowledge was really a happy one. If Joe hadn’t left, this happy life might have lasted forever. Why did he leave? Although the thought of it brought Kai nothing but pain, the funny thing was that one couldn’t stop thinking about it.
“I hated him but couldn’t get over him. He clearly reneged on the promise we made and I’m still obsessively waiting for him to come back.” Kai muttered to himself.
“Young Master…” Yakob’s heart ached.
“That must be…” He stopped talking and looked at Yakob, his green eyes full of helplessness and sadness. Yakob couldn’t look him in the eye, because it would have made his conscience suffer.
“Even now, I am interested in him…”
A tremor swept over the end of his words, and large tears fell from his melancholy eyes, running down his cheeks, flushed with heat.
Yes, even at this hour, Kay still misses Joe. Jakob shed tears of regret.
“If I had… known that, I should not have kicked Mr. Jo out of the castle. I didn’t realize that his departure would cause the young master so much pain…” Jakob covered his face with his hands in remorse and muttered to himself. His words shook Kai greatly.
“Jakob… what… what did you just say?” Kay looked at Yakob incredulously, a completely uncontrollable tremor in her questioning tone.
“What did you… say?”
Desperately trying to restrain his trembling lips, Kai paused for a few seconds to ask again. Yakob didn’t dare face his sharp gaze and hung his head in a vague attempt to hide it from him.
“You just said something! Jakob!” Kai yelled with all the strength he could muster. His pupils were filled with shock and confusion and uncontrollable rage.
“The little one knows his mistake! Little was just too stupid!” Knowing that he couldn’t hide it any longer, Yakob’s entire body fell to his knees and apologized to his master.
“Ah…”
How could… Kai subconsciously tried to dismiss this idea. Yakob, who had always been the most loyal to him, the one he trusted the most, was actually the one who betrayed him.
“How…” Kai crumpled in his chair as if he had collapsed, his body trembling with shock.
“So, Joe he…” said Kai, his lips quirking unconsciously.
“You didn’t… betray me… anymore?”
“I know I was wrong!” Yakob could only apologize again and again.
A wave of emptiness invaded Kai’s entire body.
Jo didn’t mean to leave me…”
It was because of love for me that I fell for Jakob’s scheme, and it was Jakob who lived to break the two apart by taking advantage of Joe’s affections.
“Yakob!”
All that could be heard was a click and a drop of blood fell to the ground. Jakob stared at his young master in shock.
Joe arrived at the castle after galloping his horse into the foggy forest and was stunned to see the villagers surrounding the castle at every level. All of them, men, women and children, were holding torches and farm tools or shotguns and shouting loudly, and the castle had been completely submerged in a sea of fire.
Kay, you must be all right!” Joe swung his riding crop forward.
“Go away! Get away from me, all of you!”
Joe galloped wildly into the masses, using his horsewhip to drive away the villagers who impeded his progress, and Schiffer lifted his forelegs and neighing, kicking a number of them away. It was with great difficulty that they reached the castle gates.
But the doorway was already surrounded by a large number of stout men armed with torches, who were waiting for those who could not stand the smoke and escaped from inside to wait for an opportunity to round up.
Joe spat out his tongue and tilted his head to look at the second floor, where the white smoke didn’t seem to be as thick as it was on the first floor. And the crowd would stay and riot because Kai was still inside, I guess.
“Damn it!”
Joe cursed hatefully and turned his head to look around at the situation. Not far away, all the castle’s underlings were tied up there, and they probably couldn’t escape the same fate of being abused by the village people. But now Joe had no strength left to rescue them.
“Mr. Qiao! The young master and the butler are still inside the house!” The young underling cried out as soon as she saw Joe.
Sure enough, it’s right.”
Kai’s pride is so strong, how can he come out and surrender by himself? Seeing that half of the castle is already in flames, if we don’t find a way to get Kai out, we are afraid that his life will be in danger.
What to do?”
Joe desperately tried to calm his disorganized thoughts when suddenly out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of the fountain not far away. He quickly rushed to the edge of the pool and drenched himself from head to toe before kicking through the flimsy door that had been burned by the fire.
“Uh…”
A dense heat came to his face, but Joe still rushed into the fire regardless. Some of the villagers wanted to rush in after him, but the fire was too strong and they had to stop.
The city was like a flaming inferno. The roses that had adorned various parts of the halls were burned to the bone, the walls spat out tongues of fire, the entire space was filled with ash, and the staircases and cloisters were burned to the ground.
Even though the scene was so gruesome, it still didn’t stop Joe’s determination to find Kai. Without hesitation, he ran toward Kai’s dorm room.
“Kai… young… master…” Yakob called his master’s name hoarsely in his throat as his body slowly slid away from Kai’s side.
He had a short sword sticking out of his chest. Kai breathed hard and loud, straddling him and pulling out the sword before raising it high in a gesture to stab it again.
“Young… Master…, my youngest hates Mr. Chok, who was able to gain all of your love, that’s why…” Yakob’s face was full of tears and he gasped in pain as he desperately tried to tell his heart.
“I… want… you to belong… completely to… me.”
Kai’s eyes widened in surprise, then he shook his head vigorously and exclaimed as if denying the statement.
“I said from the beginning that anyone who gets in the way of me and Joe will never be lenient, no matter who it is!”
“But… Young Master, I really love you. From the bottom of my heart, I love you very much…”
Despite his efforts to elucidate his heart, Kai simply couldn’t listen. Before Yakob could finish his sentence, Kai’s second sword swung down again.
“Gulp!” Blood spurted out of Jakob’s mouth.
“I will never forgive you. I will never forgive anyone for getting in our way!” Kai muttered under his breath like a mantra.
“Oo… oo… oo…”
A sad whimper escaped Kai’s lips as he now realized how deeply the stupid butler loved him. Yes, it must have been a hard journey for Jacobs. Seeing his favorite Kai taken from him by the Duke, followed by Joe. And this time Kai was also deeply in love with Joe, and as long as there was a day when Joe was around, Kai would never look at Yakob one more time.
That’s why Yakob couldn’t stand it and did what he did, right?
Nonetheless, Kai could not forgive Yakob. This was the love of his life for only once, and the thought that it could be destroyed by Yakob with such a despicable maneuver, Kai could not control his hatred and remorse. If he had firmly believed in Joe in the first place, this wouldn’t have happened today. If I hadn’t gone into the forest in pursuit of Jo….
Although Joe fell for Yacob’s trap because he loved Kai so much, not trusting Joe’s own self was even more hateful to Kai.
The flames extended across the entire ceiling, and the pillars supporting the large bed crumbled down as they were broken by the fire. Under the sound of flames burning and buildings collapsing, Kai could no longer hear the shouts and curses of the villagers below the city.
Let’s end it like this. Leaving Yakob’s corpse and gazing at the flames that were getting hotter and hotter, Kai thought so.
Suddenly, the door to the room was pushed open by whoever it was with such force that Kai stared in surprise.
“Jo…” It was Jo who rushed into the room.
“Kay! What are you doing? Don’t run away yet! This city is about to burn down!”
Joe yelled. However, Kai turned his back on him.
“Jakob told me all about it.”
Kai said quietly. Joe frowned slightly and glanced at the body of Yakob that had fallen at Kai’s feet.
“Then I don’t need to explain it again, do I? Just run away with me! Then we’ll go to a place where no one will know and live together forever.”
“Forget it, Joe. Really forget it.” Kai shook his head bitterly.
“Kay…”
Kay’s mournful green eyes held tears.
“This is what I get for not trusting you.” Kay closed her eyes, tears slipping from the corners of her eyes.
“That wasn’t your fault, you went to sneak up on the villagers because you suspected I had betrayed you, right? That wasn’t your fault, it was my bad for falling for Jakob’s scheme.”
No matter how hard Joe tried to convince Kay, the answer in return was still a shake of the head, because Kay had already made up her mind.
“No, I’m not going anywhere. Because wherever I go I’m a vampire who must feed on human blood.” Kai smiled forlornly and leaned down to pick up the shotgun that had fallen to the floor, the ceiling having been burned in pieces.
“Whether it’s sooner or later, I’ve seen this day coming, it just seems like it’s too soon.”
Kai laughed softly in self-mockery, and Joe couldn’t say a word. He couldn’t think of anything that would stop Kai, and could only stand in place and be anxious.
“Kiss me, Joe.” Kay gripped the gun tightly in both hands and pouted as she walked up to Joe, tilting her head back and closing her eyes.
Desperately trying to hold back the sourness that welled up in his nose, Joe embraced Kai’s body and covered his lips with his red and lovely cherry lips. It tasted a little bloody, but Joe sucked hard without caring.
Joe, I’d love to go with you if I could, but I can’t. No matter what the reason, since I attacked the villagers I deserve retribution.
Even though we both fell into the trap set by Yakko, if I had trusted you and waited for you to come back, this wouldn’t have happened today. I was so stupid. Why did you leave without me?
I couldn’t believe myself, loving you so much yet not bothering to believe in you.
Now that it has come to this, regret will not help. Now that this has happened, I have to pay for my actions. This is the destiny of the Marquis of Lambeth’s lineage.
“Forgive me, Joe. Promise me to die here. That way I can break free from the spell of the Blood. I don’t want to spend my life being treated like a monster!” Kay cried out in Joe’s arms, and Joe’s heart ached with tears.
“Even as a vampire, you are you to me. The only person I love in this world is you. If you want human blood, my blood for you to suck. So Kai, please run away with me!” Joe hugged Kai as tightly as he could with all his strength.
“Jo…” However, Kai’s resolve had long been unwavering. No way, Jo. Living with me will only add to your troubles, and you won’t be happy. Please don’t die for me anymore!
“Kill me with this gun!” Kai shoved the gun at Joe and quickly took two steps back.
“Do you think I can do it? I love you so much.” Joe said with a quivering lip. Kai smiled from a distance away from him.
“If you really love me, you must be able to lay your hands on me.”
What a brutal answer.
“Because I trust you…”
Joe’s heart was about to be torn apart. After going through all the trouble of returning to Kai’s castle, she had thought that she could spend the rest of her life with Kai, but she had never expected such a cruel ending.
“Kay… I…” Jo’s voice trembled.
“The ceiling is crumbling, and we’re all going to burn to death this way. Do you want me to die engulfed in flames? Please just shoot me! Let me die by your hand!”
No, I can’t do it. How could I kill my favorite Kai with my own hands! Joe turned his lids and clenched his lower lip.
“Please, Joe! Kill me if you love me! Prove that you love me!” Kay yelled as if tearing her throat out.
“Kay!”
With a long trailing sound, the sound of the gunshot reverberated throughout the room. Crimson blood spurted from Kai’s chest, her slender body thrown backward by the rebound before slowly falling to the ground, her long black hair flipping in the air.
In that instant, the masses that had suddenly surrounded the outskirts of the city all fell silent, leaving only the splintering sound of flames burning. No one knew what was happening, and could only stand still with their breaths cut out.
The gun slipped from Joe’s hand and he staggered over to Kai, his trembling hands hugging his thin body tightly.
“Jo…”
Kai opened his eyes slightly floating a stunning smile as blood dripped from his mouth. His trembling hand gently brushed Joe’s cheek.
“Kiss… me… Jo.”
Kay whispered as if she were out of breath, her blue eyes overflowing with tears. Desperately trying to hold back her desire to cry out loud, Jo kissed Kay on the lips with all the love she could muster.
Kay…”
Joe sucked tenderly on Kay’s soft lips, tears that couldn’t be contained dripped from the corners of Kay’s eyes, and what a sweet kiss it was.
Joe, thank you. It was wonderful to meet you. Even though we weren’t together for long, it was the most enjoyable time of my life, thank you so much. Joe, I love you. I love you more than anyone.
It will never change…
With that, Kai slowly closed his eyes.
“!!”
Suddenly, the Kai held in Joe’s arms seemed to lighten. Looking down, Joe’s eyes widened in shock at the sight before him.
Kai’s body radiated a beautiful luster and turned into silver ash, dancing around brilliantly in the flame-engulfed room. Silver ash dripped from Joe’s fingers as he gazed sadly at his empty hands.
Kay, I have nothing left after losing you, because you’re all I…
With a roar, the flames loch the entire room all around them. Joe was in the midst of it, holding what was left of the silver ash and kissing it gently.
Kay.
Kay.
I’m coming afterward. You must wait for me. I will never let you go again, I will love you forever after this, let us turn to ashes and be one forever.
“Do you think it’s good?”
Upon hearing Joe’s inquiry, the silver gray danced happily and wildly in the air like it had a soul.
You can be freed from your curse, and I can be freed from being a lord’s son.
Kay! Come with me. Revel in our sweet and beautiful dream together. Undisturbed by anyone. Not to be controlled by any bondage. Just the two of us. Forever…
Joe slowly picked up the shotgun.
“Kay! “
Gunshots and cries of grief rang out at the same time. It trailed off in a long dribble, finally fading into flames as it was drowned out by the choruses of the Marquis de Lambeth’s crumbling home.
