Phantom Ultimate Steel Bullet TD – Beacon Justice
Chapter 3 – Tides of Fury! The Sea of Tranquillity Lifts a Thousand Waves─The Chapter of the Three Colonies’ Stormy Clouds (I) July 18th, 2188 A.D. (Colonial Era Year 50), Earth Australia─UCOE Canberra Base.
The third floor of the base’s underground War Information Center is filled with tension. Today is the D-1 day before the attack, and Lt. General Peggy Rodaya, who is in charge of the 30,000-strong military brigade, has gathered all of his staff for a final pre-departure meeting, which is particularly discreet.
“I have invited you all to gather here for a simple purpose. With only thirteen and a half hours left until 0000 hours on D-Day, I would like to hear from all of you about the status of your preparations for this attack on the headquarters.” The Lt. General Field Marshal made a short speech, “Chief of Staff, you go first.”
Moses, the Chief of Staff, rose, “Yes! This army has 30,000 troops.” He pressed down on the briefing control panel on his desk and a blue and green screen descended, the image flashing out, a map of the moon’s surface.
“The Sea of Tranquility is located in the center of the three major lunar surface cities, and the terrain has been reorganized for development purposes, so it is very flat and has few natural dangers to defend. Therefore, our army will be able to land on the moon here.” The Chief of Staff pressed the button again, and the military symbols were drawn, divided into three corps. “Once all the troops are ready, we will reorganize them and decide on the distribution of troops for attacking the front, left and right flanks according to the characteristics of each army type. Then…”
The three soldiers moved and scattered towards the three major cities. “Split the troops into three, pair them with the original garrison, and work together inside and out to wipe out the Colonial Underground Army in one fell swoop! Our strategy is roughly like this.”
Pei Ge closed his eyes in thought and suddenly opened them, asking seriously: ”Then what is the tactical response?
But don’t forget that the other side has a rather horrifying next-generation ‘Steel Bullet’-‘Saina’. Carelessness and underestimation of the enemy is a major military taboo!”
“Yes, General, that’s certainly something we’ve thought about. Therefore, the newly added ‘Raya Leaf’ fighters will be tasked with holding the ‘Sayana’ at bay, more or less keeping the steel bombs busy. Our troops will be able to take advantage of this to enter the sector it is defending. Due to the high cost of the ‘Raya Leaf’ and its highly classified nature, in order to showcase the UCOE’s military appearance, we have applied to the headquarters for a total of four of them. Four of our top pilots will work with them to suppress the Steel Bomb.” Sounds well-prepared.
“That’s ideal! Don’t underestimate the Steel Bomb pilots! A steel bullet is just a machine, it’s the person who gives it willpower, life force and destructive power that is the most terrifying! It’s called ‘adding wings to a tiger’. Even if you let a steel bullet pilot control an ordinary battle cyborg, it will be far more difficult to resist than a first-class warrior. These truths are what I’ve learned from my many years of conquest.” The Lieutenant General sighed.
The staff officer tilted his head and answered squarely, “Yes! The general is right!” The volume of voice and confidence was much lower at the same time.
“Please sit down.” Pei Ge’s head moved slightly, “In terms of logistical supplies…?”
Logistics Minister Om automatically stood up, “Yes! We have prepared 15 days’ worth of food, drinking water, synthetic water for people’s livelihoods, six energy and ammunition supply ships, a mobile space station hospital, and a medium-sized material generation field (i.e., it can synthesize molecules to create food and other organic and inorganic materials out of thin air), so there’s no worry about a shortage of all materials. Regardless of the length of the supply line, I am extremely confident that we will be able to successfully accomplish our mission.”
“Will there be enough troops to escort the supplies?” The marshal hung back.
“Please have peace of mind, General. Headquarters support for two hundred logisticians to act as the rear will not be a problem.”
The minister patted himself on the back.
“Very well.” The Lieutenant General finally managed to shed a smile, “I would like to know what is the psychological condition of all the land and air soldiers in this UCOE? Are they adequate for the task?”
“Yes, Maria, Director of Medical Consultation, reports.” A middle-aged female physician with brown hair and white clothes stood out, “Mr. General. This time, the headquarters used the computer database to select those with a high ‘mental stress resistance coefficient’ as the priority candidates, and the headquarters’ super-neurological intelligence network was used to analyze the mental state of the selected candidates. The results are as follows – 87% of them exceeded the high standard of 91.2%, and they were selected to be part of the advance team…”
The physician’s eyes turned to Pei Ge, as if asking-could he say more? “What about the remaining twenty percent?” The marshal continued.
“General, it can be categorized as – first type, ‘possibility of desertion’ type: about 6%, should be assigned to the rear troops; second type, commonly known as ‘steel bullet phobia’ patients: they have seen the power of ‘steel bullets’, so when they face the mobile warriors, they will have night sweats, cold, stiff feet symptoms, which accounts for 7% of the troublesome mental illness. The second type is called ‘steel bullet phobia’: they have seen the power of ‘steel bullets’, so when they face a motorized soldier, they will have night sweats, chills, and stiffness in their hands and feet, which is a very troublesome mental illness, and this accounts for seven percent.”
“Have you tried ‘hypnotic suggestion’, brainwashing with field-entry chips, or injecting ‘nicotine’ (the latest type of central nervous system stimulant-mostly used in biochemicals. It can make people feel no pain or suffering even if they are seriously injured, or make people not know what fear is and be brave enough to sacrifice their lives – an illusion to overcome reality) to treat them?” The general is eager to win.
“I’ve tried it, ‘hypnotic suggestion’ doesn’t work on everyone, it’s just a matter of trying your best; brainwashing and injecting nicotine pannes is too cruel and can have extreme side effects. I strongly recommend that they should not be used!” Maria was very righteous and ethical. She slammed the file in her hand against the conference table, her tone strong.
Pei Ge smiled, ”Director, don’t get angry yet! I am just exploring the various elements that affect whether or not I win. I will naturally pay attention to the expert’s opinion and not get bent out of shape. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have gotten to this position today.”
“General wise.” The medical director smiled politely and returned to his seat on his own.
The marshal clasped his two palms together, “This day, at 3:00 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time, is the permitted time for our army to depart to the moon. Please make sure that everyone here urges all the departments to do their best, and not to delay the trip for any reason. Failure to do so will be punished by the military justice of the front line – the only death penalty!”
“We will not disappoint you! General!” Those in attendance replied uniformly.
The meeting was adjourned by the voice of Peggy, and he walked out of the conference room. Adjutant Orena Rodaya, the general’s granddaughter, followed him out. “Grandpa, what do you think of this conquest of the Moon Colony rebels?” The eighteen-year-old blonde girl crowed sweetly.
The grandchildren are walking and talking.
“Oleana, you’re in the military now, not at home! It’s time to address me as ‘General’ or ‘Sir’! Have you forgotten your military ethics? Don’t be rude!” Pei Ge scolded with a slight huff.
“Yes! Sir!” The young girl gave a cute military salute, embarrassed, “General, what do you think…?”
“Adjutant, this is going to be a tough battle! The chances of winning are quite difficult to assess.” He pointed out, “The ‘steel bullet’ is a major variable…”
Orena skimmed her delicate lips, “Hmph! What’s so great about motorized warriors? Just one ‘Sayna’ and everyone is scared like this!”
“So, Adjutant, you’re ‘new to the game’! The next generation of steel bombs is lighter and more lightly armored than the previous generations that dominated the battlefield, but has much more defensive and offensive firepower! It’s also more maneuverable.” As the General said, “If Japan’s improved steel bullet G ‘Pupos’ is in the starting lineup – the two are evenly matched, and it’s not clear who will be the loser!”
“Oh! I see…” the blonde girl realized, “Didn’t our army just establish the ‘Raya Leaf’ squadron? It’s called the ‘Steel Bullet Buster’?”
Pei Ge only laughed lightly, ”Laya Leaf” machine is an experimental model, it has not yet been in a real battle with a steel bullet. Not to mention that the simulated steel bombs of the ‘Imaginary Enemy Squadron’ have a huge power gap compared to real mobile warriors in terms of speed, combat power, and explosive power. It was fine for bluffing those politicians and civilians who didn’t know anything about the world! If I were to trust them, I would have to wait for the squadron to show impressive performance in combat! Not a virtual air battle!”
“Master… no, sir! How can you have so little faith in the UCOE soldiers under your command?” The young adjutant muttered, “If the leader doesn’t want to win the war, how can the men under him work hard?”
The general pretended to be upset, “How dare you! How dare a subordinate speak to an officer in such a tone?”
Oleana had no fear, “You’re the one who’s wrong, sir, the deputy didn’t say anything wrong!” Reasoning is not forgiving.
“Haha…” laughed the Lieutenant General, “You are indeed right! I have made gray remarks that I shouldn’t have made, and it could indeed be demoralizing and disruptive to the army! Oleana, this adjutant of yours… it probably won’t take long for me to be ousted from my post! You don’t have to! I’m afraid of the younger generation!”
The girl was embarrassed, “General, I was a little too impulsive… However, I don’t want you to embark on a journey without any belief in victory… I would be very…”
“I know, Aurena. Yes, it is possible to contain the Sayana with enough troops! And my other concern is…”
“Master… General, there’s no harm in being straightforward!” The adjutant just couldn’t change his tone. The two of them walked into the General’s private room, with no ears through the walls.
“Adjutant, do you realize that the U.S. tried to soften up the representatives of the UCOE member states a while ago in order to take control of power?”
Oleana nods her jade head, “Hmmmmm ~ hmmm! A frightening international incident. Sir, does this have anything to do with what’s bothering you? …”
“At that time, there were two Steel Bombers that calmed the storm – a Steel Bomb Pupos and a mysterious, unnamed Steel Bomb. I have a good friend who works in the UCOE branch in Japan, and he told me something that scared me – that the Mobile Suit came from a superpower – China!”
“China~?” The adjutant’s beautiful face countenanced, “What’s its name?”
“Steel Bullet TD-‘Asura Zeus’. Just by smelling that title, you can understand that it’s not easy to mess with.” Pei Ge humored him.
The girl was unconvinced, “So what? You can’t rely on a single battle robot? Our mechanical weapons are not made of paper…”
“Is its strength deep or shallow? The headquarters still can’t come up with a conclusion. Looking at the time and efficiency with which the Steel Bullet TD destroyed America’s elite air armor division, the ‘Asura Zeus’ will certainly have the ability to claim the title of ‘Strongest Steel Bullet’!”
“Well… aren’t all UCOE members looking for the whereabouts of that steel bullet TD?”
The girl wondered.
“That’s the problem. No country has discovered it, and China denies it. I wonder if it could have gotten wind of our army’s imminent crusade against the surface cities and arrived on the moon?”
Orena still shook her head, “Sir, I think you are too exhausted and overworked on a regular basis to be thinking about trivial things that have little chance, I think.”
The marshal held up his hand to cut her off, “No, Oleana, my calculations are not wrong! I’m afraid that if it does, the outcome of this battle will be extremely difficult to predict…”
The young woman thought to herself, “There’s no point in trying to persuade an old man with so much experience that he’ll always be able to think of something else,” and went along with it! “Okay, Grandpa, let’s get back to being grandparents and grandchildren. I’ll massage your muscles and bones! You didn’t even close your eyes last night…” She walked around behind the general and rubbed the gray-haired man’s shoulder blades with her delicate fingers.
“Mmm~! It’s so comfortable..! Grandpa is old and naturally sleeps less. Besides…” Pei Goh closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and paused to catch his breath, “My superiors have high expectations for this mission, and I don’t want to jeopardize it. Think about it, the opponents were tough, invincible ‘steel bullets’! I’m not being paranoid, but when I was a company commander, I was confronted by the Mobile Fighter – Steel Bullet X, and the entire company was almost wiped out! Decades later, technology has advanced – our army has become stronger, and of course, Steelball has become even more unstoppable! I’m not so sure about the potential danger of the Saina!”
Oleana crowed, “Grandpa, it’s time for a break. The only thing you need to do is to relax and have a quiet moment. You can try your best to deal with the urgent and annoying schemes on the battlefield when the time comes. You are an important general and a pillar of the UCOE, as well as the closest family member. Grandfather, you must take care of yourself and recuperate.”
“Good~! My good granddaughter! Grandpa didn’t love you in vain! Whoever marries you will have the honor of three lifetimes!” The Lieutenant General laughed.
The girl’s cheeks reddened, “I’m not getting married! I want to be a competent, professional officer!
Work with you, Grandpa, to fulfill your usual mission of protecting the family and the planet!”
“Oh? You don’t hate war?” The general said with a shallow smile.
“If fighting is a good solution to all kinds of human problems, why not use it? War is the beginning of reform, the key to innovation, burning down irrationality, dilapidation and decay. After complete destruction, it is enough to build at once, why not improve slowly one by one, slowing down does not help the urgency! What is the use of being a soldier if you do not fulfill your vocation of fighting? The aesthetics of war is not understood by the general public. Life, death, morality and culture can be renewed by force. The beauty of war exists in the moment of smoke, blasting, collapse and depression! That kind of shock and force can’t be compared to a vain and generalized peace!” The adjutant spoke eloquently.
Born into a military family, Orena was inspired by her father, brother, and elders to pursue a career in the military. At the age of fourteen, she enrolled at the top of the list at the UCOE Officers’ School, and was successful for four years. In addition to her ancestry, she graduated first in her class, a brilliant achievement that made even her male classmates bow down to her. The girl’s appearance is beautiful, but there is a strong sense of honor between her eyebrows, which makes people look at her with respect.
“Haha, it is a family tradition…. Yes, soldiers live and die for war. A false peace without war will not last for long, and human beings cannot live without war – no matter whether we see gunfire, or whether we speak in a tit-for-tat manner, isn’t that the case? What kind of pacifism do we need to pursue? We are born to be warlike and competitive, otherwise, how could human beings evolve?” Pei Ge was overjoyed and added his own opinion to the conversation.
“Hee! So..! I want to lead an army and be a great commander-in-chief, just like you!” She finally expressed her heartfelt wish.
The Lieutenant General laughed, “So you still want to codify the throne! Then shouldn’t I abdicate? How about I give you the lead in this operation?”
“I can’t command such a large army yet…” the girl begged, “Grandpa, wait until I’m a general…”
“That won’t work, you’re a moldable talent, I can’t wait too long.” Pei Ge laughed again, “Isn’t your position as an adjutant my spokesperson? When I’m not around, it’s your turn to be in charge.”
“Grandpa, do you have to force your granddaughter to resign?” Oleana quickly found her way down, “Compared to you, I’m still a bit out of practice…”
“The fact that you were able to break the rank of adjutant at such a young age is because the higher-ups value you, so don’t get ahead of yourself. Grandpa also thinks highly of you.” He nudged his granddaughter awake.
“Yes, subordinate knows!” The girl winks.
The intercom device on the general’s desk suddenly rang and the beeping sound interrupted the grandchildren’s conversation. He pressed the button, “What is it you want to report? Speak up!”
“Reporting to the Commander-in-Chief! All expendable weapons, rations, water, and support materials have been loaded. Progress is 50 percent ahead of schedule, and it is expected that personnel and heavy equipment will be in place from 12:15 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time to 2:30 p.m. in the afternoon. At that time, I would like to ask you, General, to come and give us a spiritual lecture to boost the morale of our officers and men. This is the proposal of the War Department.” The Chief of Staff resumed.
“Eh, it’s going quite well!” He asked, “When will the ‘Raya Leaf’ squadron fly to our base?”
“The estimate is 1:15 p.m. It should be a little earlier. As soon as they arrive, they’ll be logged into the team registry and then loaded into storage. There’s no problem with the timing.”
“Then please take the extra care to keep an eye on every aspect of the work, so that nothing happens out of order.” The general didn’t forget to repeat his orders.
“Got it!” The Chief of Staff replied affirmatively. Cutting the connection.
“Oleana,” the general said, with a renewed sense of authority, “I’d like you to make a tour of the base’s quarters for me and see what’s going on. Pay particular attention to any signs of impatience and fear of war.”
“Sir, I’m heading there.” The young girl raised her hands in salute and wiggled her fragrant hips as she left the room.
Pei Ge slowly held the table and stood up, walked to the bright window, downstairs on the flat ground to and fro more than military soldiers, could not help but feel something. ”The time to open up the future with war has come and gone, mankind will glimpse the through and through paths in it, what will be at the end of the road? I don’t know. However, the path that will be opened up with power will be difficult to travel! But it is a choice that must be made…”
At meal time, Pei Ge invited all the senior leading officers to dine with him. He inclined his head and asked Orena beside him: “You’ve been to the officers’ and soldiers’ dormitories to observe the movements, what’s wrong?”
“General, it doesn’t seem too fishy in the main, and there must be something in the smell of tightness.
I personally sampled a few third class enlisted men and junior officers and it was fine, I couldn’t hear any metaphorical talk of war aversion and fear of suffering. You needn’t worry too much, sir.” She roughly explained the results of her insights.
The Marshal Dun Skull smiled, “This is very good! Saves the need to create loose ends, adding to the troubles of unification. As long as the army is united, the strength of the battle will be concentrated, and the operation will be smooth. Orena, thank you.”
“You’re welcome, sir.” The young girl’s sweet smile mesmerized the onlookers.
1215 hours. Heavily armored mechanical load-bearing operations moved on time, with the interlocking joints tightly guarded by the staff headquarters staff. “Attention all non-commissioned officers! Please board the aircraft in the order listed in the electronic bulletin, according to your military branch and unit number! Do not panic! Leaders at all levels, please supervise your subordinates to bring their soldiers to their cabin beds within the specified time limit – any delay will be treated as a crime of insubordination! Make no mistake!”
The cabin logins of each space battleship were lined with UCOE soldiers, neatly organized and well-tuned. “Move! Move! Those behind you, follow! Extend the floating auto-pan ladder to the check-in area for roll call! Hurry!” Yelled the soldier on guard duty at the hatch.
All members of the military were marked one by one with an identification chip card as present or absent, and then taken by the officer in charge of the unit to their sleeping quarters to relocate their luggage. “Attention, all fleets are scheduled to lift off at 3:00 p.m. All logged in soldiers are prohibited from leaving their ships. Otherwise, they will be punished for the crime of ‘desertion before battle’ and will be wanted for life…” The bridge officer read out the UCOE’s military jurisprudence in order to prevent people from being tempted to leave the ship.
The deck of the main ship ‘Pann’ is divided into seven levels, carrying 300 hand-picked officers and men. Each deck is divided into six sections: A, B, C, D, E and F. Section A is the governor’s special area, equipped with luxurious facilities, while the rest are in the same order according to the rank of the officers. Of course, the new recruits were all housed in the F section.
In the innermost dormitory of 7F, four ‘rookies’ were moved in, who were only issued two weeks ago.
. A first taste of military life.
“Hey, John! How did we get assigned to a room in such a bad location? It’s so close to the engine room─if anything happens to the wave-pressure power thrusters, we won’t even have time to pray to God in repentance and be called by the Lord’s favor!” The soldier named Simon yelled.
John unlocked the electronic lockbox, “Don’t talk nonsense! If we’re really that lucky, we’ll meet a ‘steel bullet’ as soon as we get to the battlefield, and then…. Hey, we can’t wait for the engine room to explode.” This man was…
Kaida, the new recruit on the side, said in a bad mood, “Look at the way you two are talking, as if you can’t wait to run into bad luck! Have some ambition and guts! You are soldiers! Have you returned all the backbone and bravado from your training to the instructor?”
“This is the real world! We didn’t get into the UCOE Soldier Reserve School just to make a living, did we? We always want to contribute something. I don’t want to see an empty battlefield.
“Buoy, another soldier, was much more sentimental, “It would be right to leave a bit of a base for posterity to hang on to and praise.” He set up his bed.
Kaida smiled, “Of the four of us, you take your service most seriously. It is true that we should honor our choices – there is no point in going back and regretting what we have done.”
“Only big talk! Booey, how much have you given to UCOE again?” John sneered. Simon chimed in, “Yeah! You’re still not like us!”
“Not yet, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be. Being clever and feeling sorry for myself only makes my mood and fortune worse; I’d rather live each day cheerfully than that.” He admits, “Columbus, the navigator who discovered the New World, said, ‘Everything is easy, but only after someone else has done it’. How can you know the consequences if you don’t try? You should know the difference between what you can’t do and what you won’t do, right?”
John and Simon were dumbfounded and speechless by the defense. Booey stopped talking and concentrated on his personal chores.
“Simon, have you seen General Pei Ge’s granddaughter? Didn’t she go to our dormitory at almost eleven-thirty to supervise the rest and duty. She’s quite beautiful and has a nice figure. But, from what I’ve heard from people on the same ladder in other units, she’s not easy to serve!” John chimed in again.
Simon interjected, “Yes, that’s right, Deputy Orena is recognized as a great beauty. It’s a pity that she’s quite picky, harsh and perfect in everything she does and does for others, simply called ‘fault-finding’ and ‘looking for bones in an egg’, just like her grandfather! No wonder our lives are so miserable.”
The two individuals interacted and complained, pointing and cursing, full of anger into sour words, surrounded by the surrounding did not have the same look at the eye.
“You’ve had your fill of reading, haven’t you? Leave your strength behind for the space trip, the unspecified battle, ten hours of flight and combat is not easy!” Chamberlain Kaida hinted that it was time for them to shut up.
“Yes, chamberlain!” The two looked down at each other, each silently organizing their supplies. The four fighters of the… ‘Raya Leaf’ squadron arrived at the Canberra base to join the expeditionary ranks. After disembarking from their planes, Sub-Captain Tina Paulson led three members of the squadron to the administration building for an audience with Commander Pei Ge.
“Sir, Tina, the leader of the Purple Heart of the 1st Squadron of the ‘Raya Leaf’, and three flight officers report to you!” The captain saluted first and turned around and ordered, “At ease!”
“Good day sir!” The three members of the fleet shouted in unison. The movements were uniform.
“Good day to all four of you. The Grand Captain of your team has highly recommended the Purple Heart detachment to me, saying that you are the best of the best among the Flying Officers. Meeting today, you truly live up to your reputation.” The Lieutenant General smiled faintly.
“Reporting General, you are too kind! We are here to share your worries, sir. If there’s anything we can do for this detachment, please feel free to order us, General.” The captain replied appropriately, without being condescending.
“I assume that you know the purpose for which the four squadrons of the ‘Raya Leaf’ were formed?”
“Yes, sir! The main purpose is to suppress the ‘Steel Bomb’. The ‘Steel Bomb’ is a stumbling block to peaceful coexistence between Earth and the solar system, and must be eliminated.”
“In particular, on the European side, the Wild Fox Group is supported by the ruthless ‘Steel Bullet’ Van Pelt, the guardian of the lunar colony ‘Artemis’ – ‘Steel Bullet’ Saynar. Saina. And…” The marshal paused.
Tina was eager to hear what happened, “Those two are exactly what we were aiming for! The way you speak, General, it seems that there is still something to be said. Please, sir!”
“The mysterious and erratic ‘Steel Bullet’ TD – ‘Asura Zeus’ – was born in China, an ancient country in the East. It is the mysterious motorized warrior who defeated the American army in Washington with our army’s ‘Steel Bullet’ Puppos.”
“Oh? Sir, wasn’t it impossible to find it in every country on the planet? Will it reappear?”
“I don’t understand the reason for the birth of the ‘Steel Bomb’ TD. However, I’m not willing to gamble with the lives of all of our soldiers on whether or not the law of ‘wherever war breaks out, it will show up’ is true. If it’s an ordinary combat robot, why bother? It’s a terrifying ‘Grim Reaper’ with infinite potential.
! So…”
The captain of the Purple Heart detachment said conservatively, “Regarding the battle patterns and techniques of the ‘Steel Bullet’ Van Pelt and Saina, our squadron has gone through computer analysis and data simulation, hypothetical combat, and already has a full understanding of them; however, the ‘Asura Zeus’ that you mentioned, General, we are very limited in the information we have at hand. Asura Zeus’ that you mentioned, we have very limited information at hand, and it is considered an unknown enemy.”
“Is that so? If your unit meets the ‘Steel Bullet’ TD, does that mean that the four of you will be in a position to be beaten along the way?” Pei Ge spoke with suspicion. Sharp.
“Of course not, sir! The ‘Raya Leaf’ is different from normal fighters, its attacking power, flexibility, and combat ability are superior to all types of robots in service at UCOE, and it is an all-around, unlimited, and superb weapon. We have the utmost confidence in accomplishing this mission!”
The General spoke at length, “I hope so. Since you have dared to make a pledge, I will trust the four of you. I hope you will live up to your mission and not dishonor my expectations and trust.”
“Aye! We understand!” The four saluted in unison.
Tina and four other officers took a step out of the general’s office. One of them, Ensign Pricka, exhaled: “I am worthy of being known as the ‘Devil General’! Though he was old, his eyes were burning with life and his voice was loud and strong, making people fearful of him. Listening to him is worse than sitting on a training vacuum ball.”
“Luckily, it’s only here for support. With that kind of military governance, I would have turned into a deserter sooner or later.” Lieutenant Mra bassily laughed.
Timnah warned, “Be careful what you say! This is not our place, so don’t speak out of turn, lest you offend someone.”
Ensign Schell pointed ahead, “Hey, there’s a pretty blonde girl coming 50 meters ahead! Why don’t you go say hello to her?” Even the sub-commander agreed.
“Wait, Schell.” Priscilla stopped him, “You’ve heard of the UCOE’s eight most famous flowers, haven’t you? The first and most famous is Mai Yan of the Chinese branch’s Intelligence Bureau, a woman whose voice spreads far and wide and who has many suitors; the second is Ms. Yasuko Kitazawa of the Japanese branch’s Medical Bureau-we’ve all met her, she’s gentle, kind, and compassionate-and is Jiro Kida’s confidante.”
“Eh? And then…?” Schell was anxious.
“She would be the third – the favored granddaughter of the ‘Devil General’ – Miss Oleana Rodaya, who was known for her shrewdness and obstinacy…” Prisca said without skipping a beat.
Tila laughed bitterly, “T…, let’s go around! Let’s avoid them, so we don’t…”
The four men made a concentric and secret ‘turn backward’ motion to move in the opposite direction.
“Stand still! The four of you! Why are you trespassing on a level one restricted area?” Sweet pout.
It’s too late. The ‘Raya Leaf’ Purple Heart sub-captain turned back first and saluted, “Miss, we’re supporting friendlies from headquarters.”
The other three took the opportunity to turn around and follow up with, “Good day, sir!”
“Know who I am?” The girl’s tone was cold. “Sir, you are the granddaughter of the commander of the expeditionary force.” Thinak was confronted by such a charming young woman, but he didn’t dare to smile.
“I am the general’s adjutant.” Orena’s cold and icy face was covered in frost, “Even if the four of you are honored guests, please don’t walk around freely without the guidance of the guards. Strange, where did the guards who invited you go?”
“Sir, we recognize the way we came and can return on our own. So take it upon yourself to ask the guards to leave first.” The sub-captain felt a great deal of pressure.
The young adjutant was not happy: “Please emphasize discipline! All things in the military must be done according to the rules! This is a very important place, so don’t enter! If the general’s personal safety were to be compromised, would you be able to afford it?”
Tina rushed to confess her faults, “Yes, yes! You’re right, sir!” He apologized, said he was sorry, and lowered his voice.
“Fine! Considering it’s your first offense, you’ll be forgiven next time!” The girl pressed her wristwatch call button, “Concierge! Please come in and show the visitor out!”
She watched as the guards came in and walked out with their visitors before slowly making her way back to the General’s office.
As soon as the four pilots left the administration building, they all exclaimed, “That was a close one.
“Prisca, thank you for stopping me in time. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I’d gone to talk to her,” said Shankar, with a lingering feeling of regret. “She’s a beautiful girl, but she’s as forbidding as a walled fortress – there’s not even a front door to be found.”
Prisca laughed, “However, Ms. Orena is a filial daughter, and is very obedient to the General. This grandfather, who praises his granddaughter whenever he meets a young man of talent-but no one dares to express his feelings in action. To call her a fortress is not enough to describe her; she should be described as a ‘crystallized block of iceberg that never melts’, right?”
Mra shook her head and laughed: “Please, have some decency, will you? If someone overhears you, you’ll be sitting in a dark cell for a long time.”
“Haha..! Mra, you’ve only seen her for a few moments and now you’re speaking in her favor?” Priscilla smiled in a peculiar way.
“, what are you thinking?” Mra denied, “I’m not the kind of dandy who’s heart thumps at the sight of a graceful maiden!”
Tina came out to reconcile, “All right, all right! Our mission on this trip is not for a fling, it’s a fight against a powerful enemy! The ‘Steel Bomb’ is an enemy this detachment is sworn to defeat! You guys need to memorize that!”
The expressions of the three flying officers became quiet and deep. None of them had any idea of the chances of surviving. No matter how complete the preparations and analysis were, it was still a virtual battle situation – a living, breathing, brave and tough pilot who would not retreat, how could it be expressed by program or data? It is extremely difficult to describe the spiritual dimension of human beings in terms of scientific parameters and physical environment.
At exactly 2:30 in the afternoon, Lieutenant General Pei Ge led his senior staff to station themselves in the main ship ‘Pan’en’ and boarded the bridge to give a pre-departure speech to the nearly 100 ships under his command.
“General, it’s ready. Please begin.” The female communications officer pressed the radio button.
“Brave men of the UCOE, you are the first armed forces to be deployed to the growing rebellion in the colonies after the end of the war between Earth and the colonies! Earth and the Colonies were able to coexist harmoniously after the end of the Steelball X Era, but for some reason their relationship has fluctuated! You are the pioneers of the UCOE’s military domination of the solar system, and the originators of all that has broken the old false peace!
It’s worth being proud of yourself!”
“As I have always inculcated in you, UCOE, since its inception, has continuously worked for true peace in the region! It is also the purpose of the Earth’s member states to insist on the development of new weapons: ‘A secure nation makes for a secure world.’ We will not allow the colonies to violate this law – especially with a killer machine as dangerous as the Next Generation Steel Bomb!”
“Their so-called ‘autonomy’ and ‘dignity’ are, to put it bluntly, independence from our system, not recognizing them as one of us! This is the lowest form of betrayal! Earth’s public opinion will not allow it. As the protector of the solar system, UCOE must not abandon itself to its responsibilities. We must stand up to the traitors and rebuild a new order in the universe!”
The Lieutenant General was an impassioned and animated speaker. Orena led the applause, and the bridge crew followed suit, and the applause continued for a long time…
The Chief of Staff looked at the time, “Marshal, it’s time for the scheduled departure!”
“Good! Attention all troops! I, Pego Rodaya, hereby announce the official start of the trek into the Moon Surface Colony operation! All ships prepare to lift off!” The general ordered.
“Understood! Order all ship captains to prepare for liftoff and depart in the original order!” The Chief of Staff himself recited the order.
The light destroyer group of the UCOE task force served as the lead group, with the light warships and frigates in the center, and the four main ships in the air at the end. It is easy to see the determination and conviction of the ‘Pan-Earth Synergy’ to fight this time.
“It will take another three hours to penetrate the atmosphere. General, please return to your room for a short rest.”
The Chief of Staff asked for instructions.
“Moses, I know you mean well. I’m not too old to sit down! I’m going to sit here and personally command this group of soldiers through this battle! Win or lose, I will be there…” Pei Goh’s title of ‘General Devil’ was well earned.
The piloting officer reported, “Admiral, how should I adjust the ship’s current course?”
“Offset thirteen degrees and six minutes. Elevation forty-eight degrees, thirty-five percent out, increasing by one percent every ten seconds!” The Lieutenant General looked at the three-dimensional orb compass gauge in front of his seat, “Everyone take your positions and fasten your safety gear to avoid injury!”
The fleet was headed for outer space as ordered by the commander. The nose of each ship breaks through the clouds, and the ships are crowded with flotsam and jetsam. The sun’s rays poured over the hulls of the ships, reflecting through the fiber reinforced alloy glass of the bridges, making them even more deadly besides being blinding!
How should the future of the three major colonies on the Moon evolve? …
Phantom Ultimate Steel Bullet TD – Beacon Justice
Chapter Three – Raging Tide! The Sea of Tranquillity – the three colonies of the chapter of the storm clouds (2) the moon’s largest man-made city – Artemis, from the Greek mythology of the moon goddess of the name of the city boundaries in the shape of a sinusoidal moon, the teeth of the curvature of the moon – even in the Earth, as long as the latitude is high, the mountainous mountains of the Yueling, can be explored in the beauty of her appearance. Just like Artemis coming out of a clear mountain spring, the elegance and unclutteredness of the old city ports on earth is unparalleled.
The artificial gravity generating system enables the moon to retain atmosphere and water, so that it is no longer scattered, and has enough thickness to flourish life forms. Crops and farm animals no longer need to be cultivated by the tightly packed greenhouse biosphere system, and the seeds brought in from the Earth are dispersed in large quantities on the surface of the Moon, allowing them to grow freely, which is what agronomy refers to as ‘wild and rough cultivation’. Even the rivers and streams have been prepared for this purpose.
Thanks to the hard work of the inhabitants, the cities are green and quiet. Since the end of the war between the Steel Bullet X and Earth, the civilians thought that they should have a peaceful life, but for the world war triggered by the Earth, many of the strongest people were forced by the former United Nations to be sent to the Earth to serve as cannon fodder. Protests, repression, casualties, and resentment are silenced.
This is the remote cause of the hostility between the two sides. The proximate cause is the UCOE’s tightening and withdrawing of power from the colonies, and the dispatching of large armies to defend the planetary surfaces and orbital colonies. All these oppressive behaviors have caused great discontent among the migrants who have left their homelands, and the three largest cities on the lunar surface, which are the cause of the democratic wave, are the biggest opponents.
Hidden for a long time the steel bullet X is not enough to cope with the situation, because of the ideal of running far away from the multinational scholars of the three Japanese outstanding but crazy exiled scientists to jointly design and manufacture ‘next-generation steel bullet’. It removed the original steel bullet G armor too thick and heavy defects, re-opened the new technology to aluminum, titanium, tin, silver and other light, heavy, precious metals to be combined, refining, melting and kneading into a ‘new superalloy’ – ‘Bulto’. The selected armor material is light and strong in protection.
Then, the new steel bullet internal equipment, weapons, power is also all upgraded, improved, organized into a type of green and white dream machine – ‘Saina’, named from the three creators of the first syllable of the pronunciation of the family name. With the laser spear as the weapon of choice, it is the messenger sent by the Moon Goddess – known as ‘Artemis’ of the Guardian God, who calls himself the defender of the weak and small lives.
Razori Leo, the pilot of the steel bullet ‘Sayona’, was born in the slums of a depressed colony, but instead of being ashamed of his life, he rose up and enrolled in Harvard University on Earth on his own. He was to enroll in Harvard University on Earth, but the conflict between the UCOE and the colony stopped him from doing so. With his love for his family and his homeland in mind, the young man decides to join the underground resistance army and fights the brutal and unreasonable UCOE garrison.
His performance was impressive – despite his short training, his reflexes and fighting skills were as good as those of the best men who had received rigorous military training. Razori’s impressive performance immediately attracted the attention of the upper echelons of the Resistance – a pity that he was too young to take up a leadership position, which would have avoided the potential for a power struggle.
Upon the completion of the Saina, the highest decision-making body of the Moonwatch Colony, the Autonomous Preparatory Committee, searched for a suitable pilot. After three internal selection meetings, no consensus was reached.
The President and the Six roamed without a clue. They are thinking hard.
“Let’s do it this way! Instead of picking some lowly, hard-working sons and daughters of high-ranking officials, we’ll find a young man with real experience and enthusiasm to give it a try.” Chairman Fumaranjian asked.
Chairman Lubaiya thought: “We can let the resistance fighters sort out the suitable candidates, how about that?”
The other six nodded in agreement, and for the first time that day the opinions were united.
“Invite one of the generals of the Resistance to come to the meeting, and recommend from his lips someone who will be absolutely fine and suitable for the needs of this committee.” The Chairman spoke.
The chairman of the committee asked, “Madam Chairman, which general should we invite to the meeting?”
“Just Mr. Quirrell would be good. In addition to his magnificent war record, he knows quite a bit about employing people. When this Council seeks to teach him, it will be twice the work with half the effort.”
Passed without objection by seven, the Chair dropped the hammer to adjourn the meeting.
The next day General Quirrell was invited to the gathering, and the President spoke frankly of the present difficulty.
“Mr. General, this committee has a request, and I wonder if you will grant it?”
“Your golden rule is an order to me, is there any room for disobedience?”
“General is overstated. I have asked you to come, of course, because I have a favor to ask. The three major cities of the colonies are on the brink of collapse due to the UCOE’s growing desperation against us. Fortunately, a few days ago, the prototype of the commissioned steel bomb ‘Saina’ was completed and tested. We are proud that its power and performance are far superior to that of the Steel Bomb X. However, this Committee has not yet found a suitable pilot, so we have a super mobile fighter with a lot of power, but no one to control it…” Fumaran ended his sentence, looking dejected.
“Mr. Chairman, I’ve heard of your committee’s ‘Next Generation Steel Bomb’ program, and it’s indeed a big project. It will be a blessing for the people of the colony if the Saina is produced on time! Well, let me think of someone who could do the job…” Quirrell pondered briefly.
A shimmering light grazed the general’s brain, “There! I remember a man! His name is Lazori Leo, nineteen years old, quite a fine young man! Pure of heart, strong sense of justice, respect for life, a rare talent! I can’t think of anyone else who wouldn’t use him as a steel shot mechanic!”
“Razori Leo…” the Chairman recited, “Good! That’s him! General, please summon him to this group of six at once!”
The Resistance will lead the way by excusing themselves from the table.
The green-haired young man rushed to the seat of the Committee on orders, and directly faced the seven most powerful members of the test.
“According to the military records provided by General Cuellier – Lazzoli, you are a young man who is willing to advance! Although you were born in a poor family, you were admitted to Harvard University on the basis of your talent and intelligence; and you gave up a hard-earned opportunity to protect the independence and freedom of the colonies, your spirit is really admirable!” The commissioner praised.
“Sir, you praise your subordinates too much. I am just a mediocre colonial warrior doing my small part for the home I love, and not as proud as you make me out to be.” Lazori returned.
After reviewing the information, the chairman was extremely satisfied, “Young man, your combat record is really fruitful, even the difficult raid to rescue the prisoners was successfully accomplished, so it can be said that you have won the best evaluation from your military superiors! It seems that this heavy responsibility must be taken over by you!”
“I don’t know what the commissioners are asking for. But please say so.”
The Chairman pressed the red button on his desk, and a virtual flat screen rose up, instantly striking light and depicting an imposing mobile warrior.
The young green-haired man was surprised: “Madam President, what is this mobile fighter…?”
“It is the steel bomb ‘Sayna’, a symbol of peace, freedom and vitality, built by the will of the colonized people of the lunar surface. Built five days ago by local and Earth-bound scientists, the ‘Sayna’ was intended as a counterweight to the oppressive forces of the UCOE, a means for the Council to fight for survival. We interviewed over a dozen exceptional young men to see if any of them were available to pilot the new steel bombs, but none of them were selected. In a moment of desperation, we asked your immediate commander to recommend someone, and without thinking, General, he suggested you. That’s why we’re meeting today, so please understand the inconvenience.” Fumaran explained.
“What does your committee mean… that you want your subordinates to ride the steel bomb ‘Saina’?”
The chairman of the committee said sternly, “Yes! From the steel bullet G evolution of the ‘Sayna’, its battle control system without the willpower of the strong, skilled pilots to operate. Otherwise, its effectiveness will be greatly reduced, and it will not be able to utilize the combat power it should have! Razori, your character, endurance, tactics, and skills are exceptional, and you meet the qualifications of a Steel Bomb pilot! I hope that you will continue to promote the legend of the Steel Bullet X’s undefeated attack, and take up the position of pilot of the “Saina”. We’ll give you the favorable treatment you deserve and a reasonable ‘hazard pay’. Please agree!”
The seven of them stood up at the same time and bowed deeply to the green-haired young man: “The future of the colony depends on the steel bullet ‘Sayuna’; and the glory of the steel bullet radiates from the blood of its pilots!
We need one of the best drivers around! It’s you! Mr. Lazzoli!”
He closed his eyes and hung his head, thinking, ‘The situation in front of him is like a tightly stretched string, if there is one more external force, the string will definitely break. All right! If there is really no suitable candidate, just bite your lips and bear it!
“Please be seated, gentlemen, my lord agrees.” The youth nodded.
“Great! The colony is saved!” The President could not help but shed tears. The heads of the six members of the committee were all in a state of euphoria.
Rizzoli was immediately transferred from the Resistance to a secret special operations organization under the ‘Autonomous Preparatory Committee’, under the authority of the Committee. He was subjected to three months of intensive and severe training – including the functioning of steel bullets, the nature of the weapons, blind driving, jumping through fire nets, combat dueling, and fighting in all kinds of harsh and cold environments.
The scheduled courses were first practiced in the virtual machine, and in the last month, the ‘Saina’ was used to practice in the real machine. After the completion of the program, the first battle was a UCOE invasion of two friendly cities, Athena and Luna. The enemy attacked with two divisions of troops, and the steel bomb ‘Sayna’ was waiting in the center of the three cities – ‘Athena’s Mound’ in the ‘Sea of Tranquility’ – to wait for the enemy to attack, and to take the first edge and the second edge. The armored corps and the land and air tanks were killed in a terrible way, and many soldiers abandoned their weapons and fled. The whole army was wiped out.
The steel bomb ‘Sayna’ became very famous and shocked the UCOE headquarters – the colonies had been counting on a victory, but instead, they had to suffer a defeat. The term ‘next-generation steel bullet’ has also caused concern among the nations of Earth – the colonies have turned back to the improved steel bullet G ‘Saina’, which means that the dispute between the colonies and the home planet has resumed, and the day of cessation is not yet known.
The green-haired young man stood by the window of the dormitory, looking away from the stars that were extinguishing the light, ”Just now, I heard the chairman of the committee mention that the UCOE has sent out 30,000 troops this time, with the intention of once and for all deciding the long-standing strife between our side and them. Once the truth comes true, it will be an unprecedented momentum! “Can Sayana and I really prevent this tragic bloodshed from happening? ….’
He let out a long sigh, ‘What is the limit of the steel bullet’s capability? This will be the greatest test of all… or perhaps I will join Sayana in the Sea of Tranquility. Nevertheless, the only way they can get past me is to step over my body!
“Beep~! Beep~! …” The doorbell rang. “Please come in! The door is unlocked!”
The electromagnetic drive door opened and a yellow-haired male officer walked in. “Hello! Steel Bullet Hero! It’s all gone horribly wrong, why do you have time to geek out?”
“Senior Bao Da, you still have the heart to undermine your junior, of course I have time to meditate! Please take a seat!” Razori controlled the table and chairs with his mind to wait for his guest to be seated.
The green-haired youth pulled out two packets of synthetic drinks, tossing one can to Balda and holding one in his own hand as the two sat opposite each other. “Senpai, aren’t you supposed to be at the front line monitoring the movements of the UCOE garrison? Why did you…?”
“I didn’t skip work! Don’t get me wrong! I came back to report to the commissioner, and to check on your little brother, who’s not doing anything but playing with steel bullets!” The older Balda took care of Lazori, and the two of them, both from the slums and with compatible personalities, felt very close to each other.
“Playing? Senpai, in all honesty, I’m trying my hardest to be serious! But…”
“The UCOE ate its words and sent 30,000 warriors to attack the colony, didn’t it?
Razori, you’re not afraid, are you?” The yellow-haired officer smiled.
“Senior, you’re looking down on me too much, aren’t you? I’ve never been afraid of anything since I was a kid. If I were afraid, where would I have gotten the Guardian-Steel Bullet Saina?” Razori said quietly, “The enemy is outnumbered, and although the Colonial Resistance is brave, it is generally at a disadvantage in terms of heavy weaponry; the UCOE must be prepared, and will have a plan to deal with the ‘Saynah’-the experimental ‘Layaba’ combat squadron. The experimental “Raya Leaf” battle squadron. If we lose the steel bullets, how much of a blow will it be to us?
Whether…”
“Is that what’s bothering you?” The young officer patted his schoolmate on the shoulder, “This is not like the usual you! You’re not afraid of anything, are you? Just focus on fighting the challenges that come out of UCOE, and leave the rest of the muck to us!”
The green haired young man spoke, ”Senior, you are also right, you can’t fight with a distracted mind. Worrying about something that hasn’t appeared yet is better than going to gather more intelligence and exercising yourself. We’ll see what happens when we go to the battlefield.”
“Lazori, our tower reports that during the inspection of the passing freighter, a scanning analysis revealed a cargo of suspected steel bomb components, but they were cleared because there was no energy mode of operation. Have you heard of this?”
“Grace.” The youth held his hand to his jaw, “I know about it. It was rumored to be a Chinese cargo shuttle, unarmed. Besides, China’s relations with our colony have always been friendly, so it’s understandable that they didn’t investigate further. However, the matter of the steel bullet components made me think…” The end of the sentence trailed off.
“Hey, schoolboy, I don’t like listening to your dumb riddles, come on.”
“The ‘Ultimate Steel Bullet’ TD… didn’t our intelligence network confirm that it was affiliated with China? It’s a good bet that the Steelball TD is coming to the Moon Colony.”
Bowdahl couldn’t stop laughing, “Another steel bomb? Japan’s steel bomb ‘Pupos’ does not come, in effect, to alleviate a lot of pressure; Chinese steel bombs to come here will be the purpose of what?”
“Unknown. Judging by its exploits in Washington, D.C., the Steel Bullet TD pilot’s philosophy should not be far removed from ours. Its presence may be to our advantage. At the very least, it won’t be an enemy of the colonized people.” Lazori hypothesized.
“I hope so.” The officer said seriously, “I’ll immediately ask the Commission for a license to investigate the whereabouts of the Steel Bullet TD. Once we find it, we’ll convince its pilot to join us; otherwise, we’ll have to destroy it…”
Baldar rose sharply, “I must go! Razori, the survival of the three colonies on the Moonwatch depends on you! Cheer up! Don’t see me off, you go about your business.”
The green-haired youth thanked him, “Please be careful, Senpai.” Sending him away.
It was time for physical training. Razori locked the door and headed for the gym. The three major cities of Tsukimetsu are on full alert, and the underground resistance has taken over the military equipment and missions of the UCOE, which was formerly part of the city, in order to maintain law and order, while the UCOE’s military forces have been expelled to the outskirts of the city, and are preparing to counterattack, with the occasional battle.
The evacuation of the colonists and their relocation to shelters went on non-stop… The hourglass of time could not be turned back, and the whirlpool swallowed the quicksand…
The ‘Intergalactic Confederation’ office on the Moon. All officials, large and small, were staring at the looming crisis on the radar screen.
“Bonroux, when is the UCOE advance fleet expected to land on the Sea of Tranquility?” Sweat beaded on Bilof’s forehead, his heart anxious and panicked.
“Lord Envoy, if the enemy ship travels at the same speed, there are about three hours left.” Military Attaché Bangru replied cautiously.
“Dad, we’re running out of time. Our troops can’t hold them off and the colonial steel bombs are still inactive, so what should we do? Why don’t we ask Chitta…” suggested Sina, who was nestled in the young Chinese man’s arms.
The envoy shook his head, “This is a matter of the internal political situation of the Earth and the colonies, and the Confederation is not in a position to ask too many questions. However,…” he said with a toothy smile, “as for Mr. Dinky’s personal actions, I have no right to restrict them.”
Guan Yunru held Ding Qi’s hand, “Brother Ding, did you hear that? It’s time for you to intervene… You must stop this battle.”
“Mr. Envoy, what do you mean…” the young man wondered.
“Let it go!” The alien envoy said only one sentence.
Dinky’s eyes became decidedly bright with the earnestness that belonged to a steel bullet pilot, “I know that late in life!
I’ll get started on it immediately!”
“Sina, Yunru, I have to go. You guys stay here and remember to protect yourselves and be more careful when I’m not around.” The boy’s words were simple and heartfelt, not in word count.
“It’s safe here!” The Special Envoy’s wife, who had already moved to the office, replied, “Mr. Ding, this office building and land are owned by the Confederacy, and the UCOE forces and the underground resistance would not dare to enter it at will. I’ll take care of Sina and Ms. Guan.”
The Chinese youth took the girls’ hands, “Take care of yourself and the envoy’s safety, don’t take any chances, do you understand?”
“All the more reason for you to keep an eye out, eh? People don’t want to see you get hurt, even if it’s just a little bit, it’s as good as hurting them oh.” Yunru crowed.
The alien girl nodded her head and responded, “If you dare to die on the battlefield, I will follow you… nothing else matters anymore. You don’t want that, do you? Ki…?”
“How can I succumb to a losing battle so easily?” The young man laughed, “I promise you that I will return alive!” He leaned down and pecked their dainty hands. Sheng Chong, deep meaning.
The two young girls QiYi hide into his shoulders on both sides of the eye, tiptoe foot tip, one side of a blessed kiss branded in the youth’s cheeks. Is love, is trust, is unchanging promise. His heart forever tethered, sweet, slightly astringent.
“Never lose yo!” Yunru and Sina cheered.
“Eh! Roger that!” Dinky waved his hand in a grandiose manner to bid farewell first. As soon as the person left the gate, he ran to the rented storage warehouse.
The young man stood straight up and pulled down the black canvas covering the steel bullets of the war machine before the deformation, and the beige light with a dim light, like a focusing lamp for the stage, urged its appearance. Dinky examined the exterior with his naked eye and looked around before settling down.
The young man fired up the war control computer ‘Hamish’ in the pre-machine with a brainwave. “Master, it’s time for us to move out, isn’t it… the UCOE’s army is getting closer and closer to the three main lunar surface bases… what exactly is your plan?”
“All that is known is that the highest guiding body of the Lunar Colony, the ‘Autonomous Preparatory Committee’, is in charge of the entire situation, regardless of civilian or military power, and that the ‘guardian god’ of the lunar surface, the steel bullet ‘Sayna’, is also at the disposal of this organization. The steel bullet ‘Saina’, the ‘guardian angel’ of the moon’s surface, is also at the disposal of this organization. The Committee has yet to issue an opinion or official condemnation of the incoming enemy forces, and it is possible that they are ‘ducks in water’ – ‘relaxed on the surface, hard at work in the shadows’.
The ‘Saina’ combat power index determines the wealth of tens of millions in the colonies. The combat power index of the ‘Saina’ determines the wealth of tens of millions of people in the colonies, and the Committee should be extremely careful not to publicize possible news.”
Hamish responded: “Yes, steel bullets are enough to change the balance of power between the two sides!
But with an enemy force of 30,000… a single steel bullet is too thin, and it is hard to imagine the consequences if it is deliberately suppressed.”
“They will certainly expect this. However, there’s only one ‘Saina’, so if they’re not able to spare it, the rear will be in danger, but they won’t be able to rescue it. The ‘Steel Bomb’ TD can make up for this shortcoming, and if it meets the enemy in front of it, it should be able to alleviate the burden of the Steel Bomb in the Moon Colony.” Ding Qi roughly envisioned.
“Will the other side appreciate it?” The computer asked.
“That is not important. What matters is how precisely to safeguard the multitude of lives in the colonies. That is the primary subject.” Dinky’s focus was just different.
“Master, the three major cities declared emergency martial law six hours ago. According to the intercepted communications from the Resistance – the evacuation rate for the 18.8 million residents of ‘Artemis’ is 85 percent, the rate for the 9.7 million residents of ‘Athena’ is 89 percent, and the settlement rate for the 8.1 million residents of ‘Luna’ is 91 percent. ‘s eight million one hundred thousand inhabitants has a settling ratio of ninety-one percent. The goal has not yet been fully reached.”
The young Chinese man tarried, “At this rate, I’m afraid we’ll be too late. We’ll have to buy time for the colony.”
“You’re going to confront the UCOE?” Hamish’s tone sounded disapproving, “‘Steel Bullet’ may be brave, but the consequences of going up against 30,000… will be disastrous…”
Dinky laughed, “That’s what they call a ‘man’s courage’ – even if he’s as powerful as Xiang Yu or Zhang Yide, he’ll still end up with nothing. I wonder – when their army arrived on the surface of the moon, they must have been in a state of confusion, having to reorganize their supplies and adjust to a new environment with one-sixth of the Earth’s gravitational pull. It’s time to ‘fish in troubled waters’ and ‘take advantage of the fire’ when things aren’t on track.”
“The Colonial Resistance must be counting on the same thing.” The war control computer continued to feed.
“Of course! Apart from the ‘Steel Bullet’, the Resistance’s weapons and combat robots are not enough to defeat the UCOE due to import restrictions, so the colony’s only ace in the hole is the ‘Saina’, and it’s important to use it at the right time. The timing of its deployment is extremely important.”
The young man assessed, “Another danger must be added to the list – the newly formed ‘Raya Leaf’ fighter squadron. These pilots, whose very survival is to withstand the ‘steel bullets’, are said to have the most rigorous training in the UCOE, and the selection is one of the best in the world. It’s a pity that there are so few of them who came to support this mission… or maybe they could have fought for it! …”
“In that case, the Colonial ‘Autonomous Planning Committee’ will probably pull the ‘Steel Bombs’ to the rear for defense, and work with the Underground Army to guard the main airspace leading to the three bases. Because they can’t afford to lose, they shouldn’t let the ‘Saina’ venture too far ahead.” The computer deduced.
Ding Qi nodded his head, “That makes sense. This has also become a breathing space for the UCOE to adjust their entire army! I don’t want to let them get by so easily. Si, let’s review the magnificent 30,000 troops! Maybe we can also bring the ‘Laya Leaf’ secret squadron to light first.”
“Master, please board!” ‘Hamish’ sent out a tractor ray to receive and welcome the pilot as he logged on.
The thick doors of the warehouse opened wide, and an azure class fighter glided out.
“Ready? Hamish?” The pilot asked.
“Just waiting for your order, master.” The computer replied peacefully.
“Good! ‘Steel Bullet’ TD change ~shape~!” Dinky ordered to move.
Fighters quickly assembled and extended, hands, feet, head, torso, equipment, one by one. The ‘ultimate steel bomb’ Asura Zeus, standing on the top of the sky, officially appeared in the windy moon surface battlefield, a depression, killing the atmosphere of the sky.
‘Sina, Yun Ru, Grandpa, Dad, Mom… I hope you will forgive me if I am killed in the yellow sand…’ The young man closed his pupils, finished his contemplation, and then snapped his eyes open, chanting, ”Hammis’! Let’s move out! First target area, the Sea of Tranquility, where the enemy is scheduled to land!”
“Dorsal wing engines at thirty percent power, ‘Steel Bullet’ TD liftoff!” The young man pressed the tuning power, “Mission commence!”
Asura Zeus whistled and melted into the darkness of the night and was gone in an instant. The blinking stars do not know how to worry, no idea of fairness to shine on the moon’s surface. What remains unchanged is always waiting for a great change. Razzoli Leo received the most urgent telegram from the ‘Autonomous Preparatory Committee’ and rushed to the underground fortress where the Committee had taken up residence. He had a feeling that it was time to go to work.
“Chairman, Commissar, Lord Commissioners, you have sought out the ministry, what are your instructions?” The young green-haired man saluted first, asking smoothly and respectfully.
“This council declares that the entire Lunar Underground Military Zone is elevated to War Condition Three, and that the UCOE is within five and a half hours of our voyage. We cannot afford to sit back and wait for the enemy’s iron hooves to bear down on us!
“A layer of sadness clouded the President’s face.
“Yes, the residents of the three colonies on the Moon’s surface share this realization, and we will never surrender without a fight! We will fight to the end!” Razori made up his mind to fight to the death.
“Right! However, ‘to fight against the outside world, we must first secure the inside world’! The remnants of the UCOE on the outskirts of the three metropolises have repeatedly taken advantage of the situation to disrupt the citizens’ work and safety… If we don’t get rid of them, we won’t have any peace on the inside!” The Chairman explained the cause of the internal trouble and shook his fist.
The youth agreed, “Those scattered defeated generals would not have been enough to fear, but for the sake of the stability of the great rear, it is indeed time to make an end of them.”
The Commissar continued, “So, Lazzoli, the first task assigned to you by the Commission is to eliminate these secondary obstacles and to stabilize yourself first! And then the main enemy will be put to death!”
“Sir, how much time do I have for the mission?” He estimated the degree of difficulty.
“Not much, an hour and a half. We still have to overhaul and resupply the ‘Steel Bullet’ Saina, which is our ultimate reliance.” The commissioner wore an anxious look.
“One and a half hours… is enough. My subordinates will go out immediately!” The youth claimed to have retreated and prepared to turn away.
The President rose, “Lazori! …” in the voice of a middle-aged woman of vicissitudes of life.
“Sir Chairman, do you have any further instructions…?” Razori stopped in his tracks.
“The rise and fall of tens of millions of living beings in the three metropolises of ‘Artemis,’ ‘Athena,’ and ‘Luna’ is in your hands! Please do your best! As for my daughter Dora…” Chairman Fumaran’s tone suddenly softened, “I will try to persuade her more…”
The green-haired youth shook his head, “Madam President, your daughter has no interest in me at all, so why are you forcing her to like me? Regardless of the outcome, I will fight hard for the colony! It is not because of Miss Dora’s beautiful looks.”
“I know my daughter Dora, she’s not that kind of snobbish girl. Heroes don’t talk about low birth, she’s just mentally unprepared, right?” The President sighed.
“Thank you, Mr. Chairman, for your kindness! Since Ms. Dora has made it clear that we are not destined to meet again, I won’t get involved and I won’t ask her to meet me again, so I don’t want to annoy her. That’s all, my lord… Lazori and ‘Steel Bullet’ Sayana are on their way!” The young man saluted, turned back and left.
The Commissar murmured, “What a good boy with a backbone! If my youngest daughter had stayed here to study, I would have betrothed her to Lazhari! Fumaran, Dora, she’s probably…”
“Alas… Dora has been pampered by me since she was a child; she grew up to be one of the most beautiful girls in the Lunar Colony, and now that she is only seventeen years old, she has been pursued by more people than she can handle, and she has raised her eyesight to be extremely high.” The chairman recalled, “Lazori was born slightly cold, but not lose the gentlemanly demeanor, with education, character, temperament, is not inferior to the noble son of the big families deliberately taught and adjusted. He was the only one who could handle the ‘steel bullet’ with ease and comfort. There aren’t many boys like him…”
“We can not make the decision, the young children will not listen.” Commissioner Lou Baia also lamented, “They all have claims and their own futures, so worry less about this for the younger generation.”
“I just hope Dora will be happy, happy, happy – the same thing that all mothers expect from their daughters. Is it just a wish in the air?” Fumaran folded his hands, and his heart was full of emotions.
Dora Galuille is the only daughter of Ms. Fumaran, the chairwoman of the ‘Autonomous Preparatory Committee’. Dora’s hip-length red hair, her deep brown pupils and confident eyes, her delicate white jade-like face, and her slender body – have long since pushed Dora to become the most famous and stunning girl in the Moon World, and not even close.
Dora was a member of the political aristocracy, a girl with a high opinion of herself, and surrounded by relatives and friends who were all members of the high society, and who ‘were all guests of the great scholars, and no one was a white man’. Tasting fine food, enjoying fancy clothes, enjoying music, all she heard were praises and compliments, and her journey to school was smooth and unobstructed. She was simply a proud daughter of heaven.
Lazori was different. His parents died when he was a child, and he had no siblings, so he had to live in a nursery in the slums. He was already smart, quick and agile, and in no time at all, he was promoted to ‘King of the Kids’. The boy led a group of equally miserable peers to do odd jobs to earn some living expenses, never having enough to eat, not being warm enough to wear, and crying out for hunger in the middle of the night. The warmth of family is lost.
The green-haired boy certainly didn’t pass up the opportunity to learn something new, and he would often find old books, discarded microdisks, computers, and mechanical or electronic parts in the garbage, and then reassemble them on his own to put together a usable computer. Lazori studied under the dim light of the lamp, and while his roommates in the same bedroom went to sleep, he continued to study interesting books and computer programs until the end of the night.
This is the poor boy’s sky – surrounded by tall buildings, but no home.
Gray and overcast.
After high school, he moved away from his old neighborhood and became self-reliant, completing his education on his own by working part-time – he graduated first in his school with honors, and his grades were excellent in every subject. At the graduation ceremony, when he received the award from the principal, all the parents, teachers and students present at the podium automatically stood up and applauded, and some of Razoli’s friends and classmates even burst into tears…
Afterwards, the green-haired young man gave up his Harvard qualification and resolutely devoted himself to the colonial jihad, using the ‘steel bullet’ as a medium to return the favor of nurturing from all walks of life, his body is alone, but his person is not alone. Over the course of a year, Razoli and ‘Saina’ have established a remarkable and awe-inspiring record, saving many families and fragile lives on the brink of collapse.
One day he had just disembarked from the ‘Steel Bullet’ and was trying to breathe a sigh of relief.
“Lazori!” The brigadier called to the young man first, “Wait, there’s something rare and good to tell you.”
“Sir, what good can come out of this time? The ‘good’ thing I want to do right now is to take a hot bath! And then go to bed!” The green-haired youth was exhausted.
“I knew you were tired, so I wanted to loosen you up a bit.” The brigadier laughed, “Dora Galuye, you should have heard of her name, right?”
Lazori nodded, “Sir, isn’t that girl the ‘Flower of the Colonies’ who was just chosen by the Lunar Beauty Pageant? She’s very famous. Captain, may I ask why you mentioned her?”
“Oh..! You’ve hit the nail on the head! Miss Dora is the daughter of Mrs. Fumaran, the chairperson of the ‘Autonomous Preparatory Committee’, and she would like to introduce you two to each other.”
“What is she… the Chairman?” The young man didn’t quite understand, “Ms. Dora is a famous lady and a noblewoman, and she’s a far cry from people like me. I don’t want to be a part of it. After all, ‘Qi Da is not a couple’.”
“The President she appreciates you, Lazori, and you should readily agree. There is no compulsion to marry her! Make friends first.” The brigadier still smiled, “It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, you’ll have to make the most of it, lad.” The tone was envious.
“Yes, sir! Sir…” The young man had no choice but to agree, “May I ask you, what time should we agree to meet?”
“Next Wednesday will be the fifth anniversary of the founding of this headquarters, and it has been decided to extend the celebration by holding a masquerade ball in the base auditorium, to which you may bring your companions. Mrs. Formalan will be there with Miss Dora. It is then, of course, that you and Dora will be introduced.” The first captain kept his lips upturned.
Razori understood, “This way…, the ministry will not dare to object.” Apprehensive, he finished his salute and returned to his chambers. Anticipating, but even more afraid of being hurt. [Razori]…
On the night of the ball, the green-haired young man pretended to be a prince with a rented white tuxedo. Although it was not specially customized, it still fit him well and set off his handsome appearance. Many female officers and guests flirted with Lazzoli, but he could only pretend not to recognize them and avoid them.
“Coming! Here she is!” Those in attendance yelled as soon as the moderator announced the entrance of the committee members, “Here comes Miss Dora, the new recipient of the honorary title of ‘Flower of the Colonies’!”
The crowd split into two, allowing the seven-member committee to pass through. Madam President, holding her daughter in her hand, the two of them, equally elegant and magnificent, overwhelmed all the women in the room, and gasps of astonishment rose and fell. Some of the women who had been so proud of their accomplishments even retreated to the sidelines without making a sound.
Dora, wrapped in a gossamer orange evening gown, with a face of snowy splendor and a graceful demeanor, lived up to her name! After the opening dance between the chairman and the commissioner, a group of men surrounded Dora and asked her to dance, arguing endlessly. The girl was at a loss to decide.
